    How long to wait

How long would you say is a good time to wait for your 2nd child. I have a 7 month at home which was born by c-section. We are having trouble deciding if we want to try again now or wait until he is about 2. Give me comments. Thanks!

Did it take you awhile to conceive him or did it happen quickly? If it happened quickly, I personally would start trying shortly after he turned 1 so in case it took a couple months to conceive the next one would be born around your first babies 2nd birthday, I think a 2 year age gap is perfect. If it was harder for you to conceive, I would start trying now. It took me over 2 years to conceive my son and I plan to start TTC again in Novemeber when my son is 10 months old. Their really is no specific spacing, this is just my preference, good luck with your decision.

No it happen very fast. I had been off the pill for about 1 month so it should not take to long !

I was not even sure if I was going to have another one but when we got married a few months ago we were not as careful as we could have been and we are now expecting a baby in April. That will put our LO's 15 months (or 1 year and 3 months) apart. I am happy with this spacing since I will be done with diapers and high chairs and all that stuff sooner then if we had waited until our youngest was over a year old. I dont know if this helps or not but good luck whenever you decide to try :D

Is there really a right time LOL? Mine are almost 4 years apart and there are pros and cons. I love the independent time I had for 4 years with my 1st and now that he is in school everyday I have that special time with my 2nd. I did get use to sleeping and had to give that up again. I have friends who have them 15 months apart and there are goods and bads to that also. If you are itching for one I say go for it.

I think I want about two years between my youngest kids if I decide to have another. That way I get a little extra time with the youngest after the second youngets goes off to school.

i think 1 year and a half or 2 years is just fine (for me). this way they kind of grow up together, with similar needs later. there are pros and cons on either choice - 2 years or more so i guess it's up to each of us. when/if you feel it's the right time, go for it!

My doctor says it's best to wait a year to get your body back to normal because it takes that long for your body to recover from pregnancy and replenish all the minerals ect.  Good luck.

I have children 16 months apart and while it is hard right now. I hear the benefits will be great when they get older. I also had a c/s with my 1st and also with my 2nd.

    Re: How long to wait

I had the same problem. I knew I wanted another one after my son was born but wasn't sure how long to wait before we started trying. Then I found out I was pregnant again. My son is almost 10 months old and I am due to have my second child two and a half months after he turns one. Which makes me about 19-20 along this time. Now to give you some info on me. I had gestational diabetes with my son and he was born by emergency c-section. I am not diabetic this time around and am hoping for a non c-section birth. If you want to have another one I would say go for it. My older brother and I were a year and three months apart too. Let me know what you decide. Good luck with this decision.
