Normally if you're ebf you won't get a period for several months.  If you are experiencing symptoms that you're pregnant, other than missed periods, you should go ahead and take a hpt.

Ha ...I got my period 5weeks pp and I'm breastfeeding (she does get bottles of pumped bm while I'm at work, but I also pump at work when she would normally feed so that has nothing to do with it.)  Every 26-28 days I get a period!!  SO NOT FAIR!!!!  But the norm is to not get one til at least 6months pp or even as long as til after you stop breastfeeding.

I actually only breastfed for 7 weeks and didn't get my period until 3 1/2 months pp. I wouldn't worry about it...every woman is different!Stick out tongue

I have always ebf'd my babies and never had a period earlier than 12 months pp.  With 2 of mine it was more like 14-15 months.  ~~Angie~~

Yep.  You and me.  Ovulatin' machines.  LOL  All three of the kids I got my period back about 6-7 wks PP.   Exclusively breastfeeding.  I always get, "Well, your baby must not be nursing enough." or "Your supplementing, too."  Both of them are wrong.  I never supplement and my babies never nurse less than 12 times a day for the first 6 months.  The first 2-3 mos or so it averages between 14 and 20 times a day.

And my periods were still regular.  Which explains the 3 babies in 3 yrs I think.  LOL

And I'm preggers again.  LOL  Somebody's gettin' the snippity snip, though.  I'm done with this fertile myrtle business!

I breastfed for ten days and just now got my period.  Evelyn is just shy of 5mo old.  So yes, I feel for you but it certainly doesn't mean you're pregnant.  I even tested cause I was freaking out about a month ago about not getting it yet.  Just get a pregnancy test at the dollar store if you're worried.  I'm hoping my period will now be regular but I'm not going to hold my breath... I got my IUD placed a couple days ago lol and I'm sure that's gonna have me outa wack for a while.

It is one of the benefits!  :)

My first-period back at 4 months, my second 9 months and my third 7 months.  One of my friends goes over a year!  both sons were older then 14 months!

You body knows that it has a baby so it does not want to make another baby for awhile.  Natures plan.

With my first, I didn't get my period until after a year. Not so lucky with my other two. With BOTH of my last two, I got my period at 6 and 8 weeks PP. Sucks! And...I don't even use bottles or pacifiers, so...go figure. Blech.

Re: 3 months and no period

It all depends on your body. My doctor told me that you get your period anywhere from 6 weeks pp up until 3-6 months after you stop BFing. My son will be 6 months on the 29th and I still haven't gotten AF. I'm so thankful for that! I'm hoping it lasts too. But it is still possible to get preggo before you get your first period if you happen to have sex when you ovulate and you don't even know you're ovulating. I'm planning on taking a test soon just to be sure. I highly doubt that I am since we hardly do it, but I'd rather know for sure and not just assume.
