    Plus sized nursing bras

    Hi ladies,

Can anyone tell me if there is someplace good to find nursing bras for the bigger busted lady like myself?  And, I'd prefer not to have to pay an arm and a leg for a few of them.

    Thanks!

Stick out tongue [:P] Re: Plus sized nursing bras

I've been searching for months.. and months.. I hate to have to pay the $$$ for a nursing bra.. Anyhow, I 'm a 40ddd and i've found them reasonably priced at motherhood maternity.. Although depending on how you like to wear them is the problem.. I went in and tried one on- tured out to a 40F and it fit fine--got to wearing it a couple days then sleeping in it--not a good thing. I bought a couple beige ones at Wal Mart and when the wires fall out I sleep in it.. It is so hard to find plus size nursing items that are reasonably priced. A friend of mine has same issue and I met her at a LLL meeting.. She said she was watching or listening to a show and they said to take atank top and cut the spots in it to pump/nurse.. I am sure you could do that with a tank top that has the bra in it-- I haven't found one around to do that with.. but it's an idea--wear a shirt over it. Not very attractive to have a uni boob! LOL but it's a idea. Good Luck!! keep me posted i'm 07/08 birth club

    Re: Plus sized nursing bras

I'm a very large cup mama (went from F to K from kid #1 to kid #3) and I've found that nursing bras are such a waste for me.  They offer very little support and, if they DO seem to offer support, they tend to fall apart after about 3-4 months.  I had a Bravado that did that.  Loved the bra, the nursing flap hooks broke off after 3 mos.

Since you're supposed to stay away from underwires as a breastfeeder (especially the first few months) for risk of mastitis and clogged ducts, I usually just get a few regular, non-underwire bras.  I can't even shop at Walmart or VS or anything for mine, so they are always expensive, no matter what ( I have to order online).  Then I just lift up one side for every feeding.  Its quite convenient for me.  And its just as hard to snap the flap for me as it is to put the girl back in her holster, so it makes no difference there, either.  LOL

<hands in the air>  Sucks being a big breasted gal sometimes.

I've been wearing my regular bras, and just flopping the gals out when feeding time comes around.  I must agree, I think I'll stick with just wearing the regular non-underwire bras instead of buying expensive nursing bras.

    Thanks!
