    Zoloft?

Anyone here been put on zoloft?  My Dr. prescribed it for me, but the warning label says not to take while breastfeeding?  My Dr new I would be breast feeding, so is it okay to take.  WHy are you not supposed to take it?  is it because it gets into your milk?  I know I need to take it, but I am worried about my baby?  Anyone else ever been on Zoloft and still BF?

    Re: Zoloft?

im on zoloft and i was bfing while taking it. it is a class c drug which means its ok to take if the benefit outweighs the risks. my dr told me it was ok to take while bfing and i am also pg again and she said it was safe to take while pg too. i was really hesitant to take meds while pg and bfing but i was at the point where i didnt have a choice and im glad i did take it because i feel so much better!

I was prescribed Zoloft and took it while breastfeeding.  I went off of it when I found out I was preg again bc it can cause heart defects in the baby.  I was on it the first 4 weeks of my preg so I had to have an EKG done @22 weeks to check the baby's heart.

My doc prescribed this med just this week. I haven't started it yet but I am 30 weeks and she said it's class B and is safe for pregnant women and when breastfeeding.
