Hello all! I am trying to work, haha, and thought I would take a moment to say hi adn see if anyone was here to chat. My week has been hellacious. I got food poisoning on Tuesday and threw up my toenails all night long hten recovered and felt like yuck on Wednesday, thankful my teen drives so he could take siblings to their activities!! THen Thursday I spent 6 hours in the car doing things for the kids and Friday dh had hernia surgery and all was well with him and he's recovering well, but I had the runs all night long. I have had two hours sleep and my tummy is still rolling!!! UGH!
Okay, that's enough of my terrible week. HOw is everyone else doing?

Dave's Buttercup: deb12181309:we have a nurse that comes to our house either every two weeks or just once a month (through the navy) to help educate us with kody... watch development and give us info. I love her she's the best. she gave us this 10month questionnaire to fill out and i'm looking at the first set of questions about communication. One asks "if you ask your baby, does he play at least one nurdery game even if you don't show him the activity yourself(such as byebye, peekaboo, clap your hands, so big)" Kody does not do this, he doesn't clap he doesn't even wave. Another question was "does your baby follow one simple command, such as "Come here", "give it to me", or "put it back" without your using gestures". There were a couple more questions, but it just gets me worried. His gross motor, fine motor and problem solving is excellent, it's his personal social and communication i'm worried about. Maybe i'm slacking.
I don't think you're slacking. The thing I am noticing is that babies that aren't doing one thing are excelling in another thing, you know? Like activity vs social skill/understanding. Victor isn't speaking a lot, I mean he yells and makes noises, but his communication is largely with his hands and noise rather than fine tuned words, he is like Kody. The gross/fine motor skills he's beyond excelled in just not a ton in the communication department. He claps when he wants to, talks when he wants to, and comes to me when he wants to... even if I ask nicely LOL! I think questionnares that generalize babies are REALLY stupid! I definitely agree that they work really hard on one area then go back to another. Roddick can say Mama, Dada, Bot (bottle), uh-oh, yay, baby, no, stop, Edward (sounds like edddwoooord, lol), juice, hi, more and he's signing more and fan, but only takes about two steps without help right now and rarely even attempts to walk instead of cruise or crawl without a lot of prompting and encouragement.

Amanda71986:Aidans kind of doing neither verbal nor motor skills I mean he crawls & can stand and has attempted steps but now walking. He says mama, dada, blah blah but isn't recognizing that I'm mama or adrians dada. But I am not worried. This 1 weeks away from MIl's I've seen huge differences in him! He's happier more energy and he's standing more on his own. Its a nice change That's great! Has his ED cleared up? The way you described how iy looked sounded like he might be being fed something he shouldn't/ you wouldn't want him fed.
