Re: WANTED: Updates on moms and babes; post your's!

Okay, where to start?? LOL Douglas is now 2 days shy of one month and loving life.  The first couple days were really great as we had NO visitors and it was soooo cold we stayed home all the time.  Was great. Just nursed on demand and cuddled. Didn't get much sleep but since I was staying home I could cat nap on the couch.  Connor (4yo) loves "his Douglas". Whenever I say to Douglas "hows my little boy" Connor tells me its HIS DOUGLAS!  And when dd says hi Mr. Douglas again, we are reminded hes not MR Douglas, just Douglas! its so funny to watch. Sean, the 16yo could care less right now. Its just a baby and his patience seem to be going down hill. We will be in the car and D will cry and fuss, (not a happy car rider right now) and Sean will tell Douglas "stop" "Dont start" "oh please, we are almost home" Drives me crazy! He also not a comfort when D is crying at home and I need to go to the bathroom or shower or something. That is the hardest part right now, other htan lack of sleep.  Elizabeth, 13yo, is great. She is like a second mom at times. I can leave D with her at any time and she will find some way to keep him mostly quiet. Its really great when I need to eat and D wont sleep. She will take him for 30 minutes so I can make lunch and eat. Otherwise I would never get hot food!!  As I said, Connor loves his little brother. Tries to get him to go play Legos all the time and play PS2. So funny. He tries to share food to but I think we finally convinced him that D only eats Mommy's milk. Which is strange too, to have a 4yo staring at your boob while baby feeds!!! Connor was a boob-monster when he was younger. He would feel up who ever was holding him!!! LOL Was really funny and he didn't really out grow it until about 2 1/2 yo and then he would still rub them when I held him at times. So now to have him watch Douglas eat is odd!! LOL

Douglas has his nights mixed up with days but we are slowly getting it turned around. He is now up every 2 hours at night to eat, which drives me crazy but he does sleep with us so its not too bad. There are nights where he never seems to detatch and those nights I cant handle it. I have no idea what he weights as we dont see the dr until 2 months old. But dh got on the scale with him and he was up to 10+ pounds. So over 2 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks!! Like I said, he likes the boob and is on all the time!!! I finally have a scheduled nap around 12/1 in the afternoon. He will sleep for two hours, as long as I only put him on the couch to sleep, not his hard matress or playpen.  Boy likes comfort!! LOL Thankfully things are settling down and getting on a schedule. Just need to get over the car issue, but that is okay, he only fusses a max of 15 minutes in the car before he's asleep, but once you stop, he starts again.  Love reading how everyone is doing and seeing new pictures. Sorry I dont have a current photo to post right now. Just a new avy pic to go by! LOL Enjoy your LO!

1 little question though...my bleeding seems to come and go. Its never heavy anymore but its still bright red sometimes and there'll be nothing for a day and then it will reappear the following day

I had my c-section 3 weeks ago today and I have the same problem mine actually started getting really light before I even left the hospital...but now seems to come in gushes since this is my first c-section I'm guessing its normal :)

This is my first C-sec as well, and I'm having the same exact thing.  Bleeding got really light before we left the hospital but has been up and down since then.  Getting fairly light again so hopefully it'll stay this way.  My OB said it's normal to have it come and go.  I guess sometimes clots can break loose from where the placenta was attached and cause fresh bleeding again.

Addison and I are doing well.  She is three weeks old today...boy time has flown by!  She is a fairly good eater, although my milk production has been low lately...and an even better sleeper.  I usually get up once a night and have had two nights where she slept all the way through.  She still hasn't gained back all of her birth weight (well, as of her 2 wk appt) so we go back again next week to see if she's gained more.  Jason is in love with her and throroughly enjoys being a daddy.  They have nap time on the lazy boy every day when he gets home from work.  I am enjoying being a stay-at-home mom although I feel like I don't get anything done.  I'll have to post recent pics later.

Jamie is doing awesome! He was born on his due date (Jan 16) and is 3 weeks old today... I just added the birth story to the announcements thread... I didn't go into details- it was too traumatic- but with a happy ending (obviously)...I am breastfeeding and supplementing (I have a supply issue- I am taking domperidone for it)... I have lost 35 pounds and have 24 pounds to go... Jamie is a wonderful sleeper. Here's a photo of him sleeping and one of him with me right after bath time (less peaceful)... :) Jamie bath time

Antonio will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. We had an appt today and he weighs in now at 12 lb 1.5 ozs. Dr says he is doing wonderfully and is above the 90th percentile on all the growth charts. I have been back to work since last week and am quickly getting exhausted since Antonio has decided to stay up about every third night. I have my check up with the OB on Monday.

Hi Ladies! Austen and I are doing great! He is growing like a weed and is just shy of a month old! OMG, how time flies! He is currently at 9lbs. 3 oz. His is in the 50th percentile with his height and weight, which our ped is pretty happy about! He is doing well with sleeping......he goes for about 4 hours and then wakes up to feed (at night too) which is nice!! The only issue we are having is that he is a little constipated because we have had to make the switch to formula due to a decrease in my milk supply. He is scheduled to have a barium enema tomorrow morning to make sure that nothing is wrong with how his colon is formed and if not we will take steps from there! Here a few pic's for you to see since I wasn't able to post any when I posted his birth story! Enjoy! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Re: WANTED: Updates on moms and babes; post your's!

Things are going great here. Sebastian will be six weeks tommorrow; I'm still at home for 2 more weeks.

The first week was a bit difficult, as Sebastian was on a bili blanket from Thursday thru Sunday, then Sunday afternoon my 7 and a half (!!!!!!!!!) year old daughter got her first period (we've gotten her checked out, everything appears normal but going to endocrinologist to make sure - but 8 is considered normal these days!!! She started getting zits when I ovulated/got my period at age 5, so I knew this was coming and she knew all about it, knew it was normal and meant she was healthy...) So then that Monday I went to my doc for heavy bleeding and had to get a D&C that same day, had to leave my one week old w/grandma so I"m freaking out, didn't know how to mix up formula for 6 hours I"d be gone.... it was a mess.

But, then everything became wonderful. Thanks to the d&c I only had one more day of bleeding; dh and I could start doing the deed at 3 weeks post-part;) DH and dd are form the Dominican Republic, we had a immigration interview and they were APPROVED for their 10 year permanent visa. Dh got a job this week as a mechanic, his IDEAL job - but I miss him being here to help! Here are some fotos from last weekend - the one with him about to cry is my fave;)

Connor is now 6 weeks and growing sooo fast. I would guesstimate him at 16lbs. He was 15"8 at 5 weeks. I took this picture of my boys on Friday. It makes me melt everytime I look at it.
