Re: WANTED: Updates on moms and babes; post your's!

EVERY time I try to do this something happens to the post!!  I just thought I'd run a little detailed update on us.  My brother Matt is home for good from the Army, he bought out his contract because in his updated contract there was no clause saying he couldn't do so.  He did this because they wouldn't offer him a non-deployable position after they already had diagnosed him with post traumatic war syndrome/stress disorder, the Army is really messed up in a lot of ways.  He also managed to knock up his girlfriend, now wife, who is due mid-November.  My poor mom is 0/2 for weddings for her kids!  Geoffrey will be deploying for a second tour in Afghanistan sometime this summer, he hasn't been able to come home to meet his nephew yet, another messed up thing about the Army.

We recently traveled to Florida for a wedding of Dave's college roommate, in Sanibel Harbour, which was over the top amazing.  Probably the only $100K wedding I will ever attend.  V did wonderfully on the plane both ways, and I only had to snap at the flight attendant on the way down "no touching!" which was a pleasant surprise, I thought I wasd going to have to be that "b!tchy" mom who won't let any one hold her baby, but everyone just looked Smile  hey you never know with this flu going around!  Better safe than sick and sorry! Victor nursed through the ceremony and woke up at the end, then slept through the majority of the reception, and woke up at the very end during the last dance.  We managed to get a few dances in and get silly.  I've included a few pics from our vacation, and one of Dave and just a few of his friends, the groom is on the top right next to Dave; I swear there wasn't one guy there that wasn't good looking!!!

Victor is just hitting milestone after milestone.  He's had two more of those calcifications since the first one at 7 weeks old.  He started rolling back to front before we left for Florida and quickly figured out how to barrel roll while we were down there and now he won't stop, but I can't blame  him, who wants to be stuck in one spot when you can roll around and discover new things?  He has also started to amuse himself by picking up the toys from his highchair and dropping them on the floor, and yes, yelling for them to be picked up!  He's very close to sitting on his own, he will do it for about 10 seconds then give out and crunch down forward.  He belly laughs often for us, but is still figuring out how to control it (either that or I'm really not that funny after a while and he's faking me out with his big smile and squeals!) He sleeps great most every night, is still in bed with us, and still wakes around 2am for a little snack and 5 am now for another snack and usually falls asleep at or before 9pm and will sleep usually until about 8:30am.  He's now napping in his crib with the video monitor on of course cause I'm so paranoid, and will take some nice long naps for me during the day!  Everyone is always commenting on how wonderful of a baby he is and I really don't have much comparison as he is my first, but I like to hear it Stick out tongue

Ok enough babbling, on with the pictures!

    Snoozy-faces!

Big yawn!  Our flight was at 6:45am and I woke him up to feed him.  Don't mind my frumpiness I got up at 4!

    Just a quick update:

My first few months into motherhood have been amazing.  I love my new role and I love my daughter more than I could have ever imagined.

The newborn weeks were challenging and exciting (as to be expected) but we got through them together!  Oakley has acid reflux and is on medication.  Once we began treating her for the reflux we were good to go.

When we brought her home we were sneaking her into the bed with us at night but I quickly got into a routine of getting her to settle in her crib and she has been there ever since.  Oakley has consistently been a pretty good night sleeper but is horrible for napping during the day.  Up until recently she was sleeping from 8-9pm until 3am for a feeding and then up for the day at 7; however, since the sun is peeking into her nursery earlier in the mornings, she has decided that she would like to get up for the day at 5am.

Breastfeeding has been a breeze and Oakley took her first bottle on March 17th.  She weighed 15.5 pounds at her last appointment.

Oakley had her ears pierced at 3 months and she did great.   Right now we are teething and I see a little white dot that looks like a tooth!!!

We have started going to a Mommy and Baby playgroup.  She is the youngest baby there but she loves watching the other babies play!

Here are a few pictures from the last few months.  She has grown sooooo quickly!!!

You can post pics by uploading them through a free website like photobucket. Ou have to make an account but its brief and requires very little information. Once you upload the pic you copy and paste the image code into your post. Or you could post a link to your facebook photos if you have a facebook account, a lot of us are on there already I'm a pw group. HTH! Looking forward to seeing some pics!
