    Need advice

My baby girl is 10mths old and for the past 4 days has been waking during the night every hour on the hour between the hours of midnight and 2am and I'm slowly going crazy!! She didn't sleep through the night before but only got up once (around 3am), has anyone had experience with this? During the day she is a bright and a happy little girl, she loves her food has two naps a day (am and lunch naps) and I'm at a loss as to why this is happing. I've cosidered the obvious things ie nappy, hunger etc... and her teeth, I don't think it is as she isn't in pain when she wakes, she goes back to sleep relatively quickly, I've made sure her rooms is the right temp, I've even considered the full moon (now I'm getting desperate) which was shining into her room - What could it be??? If anyone has had experience wiht this I would love your input. Thank you

Wow. Its good to know that some one else's little one is doing that too at this age. My little Isy started doing that the week that she turned 10 months and still does it off and on. I've come to the conclusion that its night mares, she always seems scared and hugs me tight when I pick her up. The only thing that seems to calm her is just holding her and reassuring her. I think that it just a phase (I hope that its just a phase), I've had friends go through this with their little ones too and they said that it only lasted till about a year. Good luck, let me know if you find something that helps.

Thank you! Its great to know your not the only one - especially at 4am when your trying to settle her. I'm pleased to report that last night was a very good night we only got up once and slept until 630am as opposed to 530am! Fingers crossed this was a phase - I live in hope :)

This thing is common for baby at around 10 month. They are in the growth spurt (acceleration of growth). To anticipate this problem, we need to give extra food at the day time. If it still happen, don't worry. Just give them milk or water (they will show you which want they need) put him/her back to their crib, turn off the light, play soft music and leave them alone. They will back to sleep.

    Re: Need advice

My youngest went throught the same thing. She was sleeping 4-6 hours a night. Then at 6 months she started waking more until it was every 1 1/2 -2 hours. It does feel like you are going to lose your mind. I was not getting any sleep and had a toddler during the day also. I tried co-sleeper, changing diapers more, etc. Could not figure out either what was going on. My baby, like yours was fine during the day. I ended up sleeping on the couch next to the play pen where she would sleep. It was easier for me to deal with rolling off the couch, rather than climbing out of bed. She would only sleep with her head propped up. I think maybe her teeth throbbed laying flat because at this time she also hated when I layed her down for diaper changes. I now think it was a combo of teething and seperation anxiety. She is now 11 months old and sleeping from 9pm-5 am staight through in her own crib. I don't have any real answers. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and it will get better!

Same here. She'll wake up screaming and crying, when I go to check on here she acts like she's had a nightmare! She'll grab hold of my neck so tight and then fall back to sleep in my arms. I'll then lay her back in her crib and she'll cry again. I started letting her cry, only after knowing all her needs have been met (food, dry diaper...) I know she is tried, and will eventually go back to sleep. The first night she cried for almost an hour, then fell asleep. The second night she cried for less than 10 min. and slept from 10pm-5am. :D It's hard to listen to them cry....but it seemed to work for us.

It sounds like teeth to me! My little one did the same when his eye teeth were about to break the skin.
