making own diapers?

I have been searching all over at free ones and ones you have to purchase. I'm pretty overwhelmed! Which diaper pattern would you recommend?

I think the name of the pattern I used was Mama bird or something like that. Some people also say the just take a regular disposable diaper and use that as your pattern. Like a Pampers or Huggies.
