    Sensory Processing/Sensory Integration Support Group

I haven't had any responses to my posts on Sensory Proessing Disorder (SPD) although the statistics show 1 in 20 children have it.  I am seriously considerting starting a support group in our area.  I think more parents need to know about SPD.  Have you heard of it?  If you have a child with SPD would you consider joining a support group?

Re: Sensory Processing/Sensory Integration Support Group

I believe my daughter has/had a sensory processing issue.  I will not say disorder.  She was evaluated by the Occupational Therapist in the early intervention program through out state.  There are some sensory issues that have bothered her and it seems as if she has found ways to deal with dealing with certain stimuli.  The OT said it wasn't a disorder for her because it isn't keeping doing daily activities.  I do believe that more parents need to know about it.
