    Back feels like its splitting!!

This is my fourth baby and never have I had this back pain before. I'm 34 wks. My husband rubs my back every night but it still kills me by the afternon. My doc said to wear the maternity belt wich helps, but only for a little while. I take warm baths at night to help. My doc just said that it is a normal complaint for someone having their 4th baby. My pelvic bone is killing me. At this point most women could careless about being intimate with their husbands, I however would love to, but with my back and pelvic pain I just can't get into it. Any suggestions would be sooooo appreciated.

Hi.I am currently 27 weeks with my 3rd child. I also have severe back pain especially lower. I went into preterm labor at 24 weeks and it was stopped thank heavens but in the mean time the baby had droppedand shifted lower into my pelvis. I also have a low lying placenta and the doctor said that my baby seems to be lying more towards my back bone due to the placenta its just where hes more comfortable. Also because i am only 27 weeks but have only gained 6 pounds and measure at least 6-7 larger than i should that when he dropped more into my pelvis he is so low and sitting on the nerves in my back that it causes the pain. She told me to take tylenol as needed and if was too bad then she would prescribe tylenol #3 with codeine but i dont like taking strong medicine so instead i take the warm baths, and i also lay on my left side with a really soft body pillow wedged behind me so i can shift some weight and lay on my back/side it really seems to relieve the pain. Another thing that helps when i have to go to the doctor or anywhere or sometimes at home i wear my secret fit belly maternity pants. They to me re comfortable and fit over the entire stomach to support them i. If you dont already know about them i baught mine from the motherhood maternity store.I really dont know if i helped any but hopefully i have a little and God bless you and your family.

I too experienced tremendous back pain while pregnant. It was painful for me to even sit down at the dinner table. I finally broke down and went to see a chiropractor a couple of times a week for about a month and a half and it did wonders for me. I also slept on my side, with a pillow between my knees, behind my back and under my belly for support. Additionally, I did some yoga exercises that are specifically geared toward the back.
