    Re: shortchanged by nature

I have had three c-sections, the first was after 30 hrs of labor, I was 18 yrs old 102lb pre-pregnancy and he was 9lb 3oz, everytime I had a contraction he would push with his feet against my ribs, I reached 9cm and half hour later was at 8cm, the recovery was bad, I couldn't get myself out of bed from a laying position on day 4, with the following 2 recovery was much easier, my second I was up and self dressed the next morning (less than 24hrs later), I think it was due to experience, I knew what to expect so it was easier. I chose to deliver son 2 and 3 c-section. I don't feel that going threw all the pain and agony of labor makes you anymore a Mom than the pain of recovery after MAJOR surgery. I hope this makes you feel more secure in the decisions made by yourself and your drs. All that matters is a safe and healthy baby!!!
