Anybody have the 3-row Honda Pilot?

Reply Contact I just found out that I am expecting my third child in March, so since i drive a tiny civic right now, we were researching mini-vans. During my research, I noticed an article about the Pilot now having 3 rows. I love the Pilot and really dont want to drive a minivan. Can anyone give me some advice or if you have it, what is your opinion?

  Re: Anybody have the 3-row Honda Pilot? Reply Contact I resisted the minivan until my third child was 14 mos. I drove a Dodge Durango... similar in some ways to the Pilot. The Pilot is a far superior vehicle overall than the Durango, but the thing about the Durango that pushed me into a minivan will also affect you in the Pilot. Once you put up that third row, you have JACK for cargo space. Pretty much once you stick the stroller in there, that is all she wrote. I contemplated a Suburban, because pretty much any SUV but the Suburban (or similar size vehicle) is going to have the same "jack for cargo" once that third row is up and being used. I finally caved and got a Honda Odyssey... and I totally love it. Swore I would NEVER drive a minivan... but I am a convert.

I can fit 2 Britax Frontiers and 1 Britax Marathon all in the second row with the third row down for cargo! I recently got pregnant with #4, so the third row HAS to go up in April, but I still have enough space behind the third row for my Wendy B umbrella stroller (I actually have two and I can stack them on top of eachother), and groceries. But even with the third row up, I put the two Frontiers in the back, the Marathon and the SafeSeat in the 2nd row and can still fold the side seat in the second row up to allow passengers in to the 3rd row. The 2nd row has all individual moving seats, it's not a 60/40, which is GREAT. I can even remove the side seat in the 2nd row if I want a more 'mini van feel' on the INSIDE of the car, but it's still my trusty Explorer :)

  Re: Anybody have the 3-row Honda Pilot? Reply Contact I always wanted a cute little sports car but I have a 4, 3, 2 and 4 month old so it is impossible. I got a minivan and to be truthful I love it! I would have never believed something that big would be so roomy and comfortable. I recommend getting captain seating tho because the bench is hard to get seats and kids in and out. I have a 2001 oldsmobile silhouette and it is a life saver. It has enough room for luggage for a week...trip to texas proved that point. We had 7 grown adults and all their luggage in our van and we rode comfortably. I hope this helps.
