Reply Contact  It's going to be pretty quite here.  My side of the family comes over the Sunday before the holiday so that they can do the in law thing on the actual holiday.  This all started when my parents divorced..we'd go to my Dad's the Sunday before and spend the holiday with my Mom.  Same with Christmas.  We all meet the Sunday before (or after if the weather is bad) or well, it used to be that we'd meet on Christmas Eve, but that became too hectic for everyone since we all have to travel to who evers house we'd be going to.  So, like mentioned, we had our dinner this past Sunday.  The whole nine yards food wise and lots of good conversation.  It was a real good day (exhausting though..lots of cleaning and cooking for me).  The actual holiday, we'll be having a nice ham and my dd's boyfriend is coming over.  No biggy.  Looking forward to the extra sleep I'll get b/c my dh has the holiday and Friday off too.  Yeah!!

  Re: Thanksgiving........ Reply Contact Staying home-we're hosting this year! It's been a few years since we hosted, and this time will be considerably smaller....just my parents (my brothers are working, and my sister and her fam will be at her ILs), and FIL, and BIL. Last time we hosted it included some of my extended family so it was over 20 guests. Only 4 guests this year will be nice and quiet. : ) I am helping with our city's Turkey Trot, so I'll do some baking tonight, start the day out with the run, then come back home to cook my little heart out until we eat!

Reply Contact DH and DS both woke up sick yesterday morning so our Thanksgiving plans changed to staying home and watching football! I'm sad that they are sick, but it is nice that we all just get to be home and enjoy each other without the stress of the whole extended family. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! ~stephanie
