I have had PID many times.......
In England it was once known as a STI but not anymore.......this is because the STI like chlamydia or gonerrhoea and others...let in the bad bacteria......which then in turn...casues PID........
PID is when there is too much bad bacteria verses the good bacteria in the repoductive centre of a woman.....her tubes...ovaries......genital tract....and many more......if left un treated it will continue to come back....and MAY cause infertility..........major pain....eptopic pg and such like......
Unfortunately because the signs feel the same to women that suffer bad period pains........it goes untreated.....and the sufferer will just take pain killers for the pain....when what is needed is a high dose of antibiotics.........
Basically once something or someone enters a woman....and is carrying a bad bacteria...and gets past the cervix.....then the woman has a chance to contract PID......
The test is very simple and doesnt hurt......even if u have a low pain threshold.........If theres is something found they will give u antibiotics.....and hopefully some condoms so that ur partner does not pass it back to u once ur cleared.........It would be a good idea for ur partner to get checked to.......as he could be passing it on to u........
In my case it was my overly cleanl;ness that caused mine after i found out my ex was playing the field........
I hope this helps......
