    IVF Info

Hi! I just had my second IVF procedure today. I had a miscarriage when I did it the first time so I'm hoping and praying that this one is successful. I just thought that I'd check here to see if anyone has any good stories or suggestions of things that I can do to make the pregnancy more succesful. Thanks and I wish all of you good luck if you are going through it too!

    Re: IVF Info

If you can afford it, my suggestion is to keep trying through IVF.  Did they do ICSI (where they inject the sperm into the eggs) or did they just place the sperm in the petri dish along with the eggs.  Also, was the transfer done at day 3 or day 5 or 6 (at the blastocyst stage.)  Transferring on the latter days gives you a better chance.

Good luck!  My first IVF turned out to be a chemical pregnancy.  With my second (with ICSI and a 6 day transfer), it was successful.  I'm now in my second trimester.

    Sending you lots of hope,

    Mari

Mari, Hi! Thank you so much! I don't know if they did ICSI since I haven't heard of that. I only know about the IVF. and that my transfer was done on day 5. I didn't know that it could be done on day 6. During my first time I got to about 6 weeks after the IVF and then I had a miscarriage. The second time just didn't take. It's just so hard to figure out if I did something wrong or what the problem was! What's a chemical pregnancy? That's great that your 2nd time has been successful! I wish you a lot of great wishes that everything goes smoothly!!!! I really would like to try IVF again but since my husband and I are still paying for the first couple I don't know when we'll be able to try it again! I just get so nervous thinking about trying it again and spending all that money when there's no guarantee! Even though I really would love to carry a baby, it's just such a hard decision. I've looked at adoption but that's even more complicated in some ways! Well again good luck and take care! Nichole
