    new to board

Hi, my name is Rebekah. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April of 2005. I got pregnant, through insemination in Aug of 2006. Now my baby is about to turn 1 year old and I haven't been able to lose weight. I am on Metformin. 2000 mg a day, but I seem to be stuck. I am trying to get a exercise routine going but its hard. I'm also trying to eat healthy, but my hubby craves bad foods so I give in too much. I want to get pregnant with in 6-9 months but want to lose weight first. Anyone have any advice on losing weight? Thanks

It ain't easy no matter what way you look at it. 9 months after my daughter was born I joined Weight Watchers & that, along with running around after my daughter, saw me lose my remaining preggy weight. One thing that was recommended to me was to try a low GI diet as that can also help balance out your hormone levels if you have PCOS. Keeps your insulin level even throughout the day instead of major highs following major lows.

I know exactly how everyone feels. I was diagnosed with PCOS in december 2000, was told i couldnt EVER have kids then my daughter Angel Marie was concieved. Even though it was a difficult pregnancy and a very hard delivery 4 weeks early she was born in december 2001. I got pregnant again in 2003 carried for almost 5 months and finally my body miscarried (stillbirth) I have not been able to get pregnant since, my husband and I have decided 4 months ago to start TTC and nothing.... I have used the pillow under my back, i have charted and kept dates of periods (which have been normal 28 day cycles for over a year) I had my peroid on June 30th, all sites and all of my counting says i will concieve around the 12th-14th and today is now the 13th so i am hoping all goes well, my hubby and I have had great bed times since the 11th and tomorrow will try once again. If anyone has any secrets that might help, please let me know e-mail me or something (tasha052721@gmail.com) So i will be testing about the 1st week of Aug if no period comes by then, so everyone PLEASE keep your fingers crossed !!!!!
