Honest opinions about these names...
My husband and I are having a difficult time choosing names (as we always do.) We are not finding out the gender, so need both boy and girl names. Could you please give your honest opinions on the choices that we have so far. Also, feel free to give additional ideas. BTW, our other kiddo are Tayler, Drake and Kendyl. Here is what we have so far this time...
Boys: Reid, Carson and Carter
Girls: Paige, Peyton, Hadleigh, Ashtyn, Skylar, Reece and Avery

Reed, Carson & Carter are all okay for boys.
I don't really like any of the girls name, including the way they are spelled.

I love the name Paige. We even considered it, but it sounds terrible with our last name.
I also really like Peyton. i actually like it for boys and girls.
good luck!

My son's middle name is actually Avery. It could be a boy's name or girls name. Also I like the name Ashtyn for the girl's name.

Reid, Carson, and Carter all my favorites, so in my opinion you can't go wrong! lol For your girls names I like Paige, Peyton (Prefer Paityn (and she could have Y just like Tayler and Kendyl), Skylar. My # one choices for both though would be Reid & Paityn/Skylar (can't choose between the two =])

Re: Honest opinions about these names...
If I were you choosing from the list you have decided, I would scratch the two "C" names for boys as a choice and the two "A" names for girls. If you introduce your children as "Tayler, Drake, Kendyl and Carter" that is too much "K" sound at the end. Say it many times over and you will see. Also if you introduce your children as "Tayler, Drake, Kendyl, and Avery or Ashtyn that is two vowel words back to back and doesnt sound right. ("and Avery" or "and Ashtyn") I like the sound of "Tayler, Drake, Kendyl and Reid" or "Tayler, Drake, Kendyl, and Hadleigh, and that is "my honest opinion". Hope it helps!! Good luck.

Re: Honest opinions about these names...
From your boys list, I don't mind Carter or Reid. I can't stand Carson. I don't like a single name on the girls list. Peyton, Hadleigh and Avery are predominantly surnames and I really dislike seeing manly surnames on little girls. Ashton (the Y doesn't make it special or feminine) and Reece are very much boys names to me - it's like seeing a baby girl John. Skylar is too gender-ambiguous and I've always disliked the name Paige. Might I suggest: Ashley, Sky, Rhianna, Ava, Aveline, Ashfleur, Hailey, Hallie, Hannah, Holly.

I don't like any of your girl names at all.
Your boy names are okay. I like Carter the best.

Re: Honest opinions about these names...
I think it's really hard to choose first names without knowing what the last name is (our's is very hard to match names to...). You have great taste in names, but if I'm being honest I have major issues with changing the spelling of a name just to be different. Those children will have to spell their names to every customer service person they speak to for the rest of their lives (Tayler, Kendyl).
In any case, I love Reid & Carter for boys, but I would also strongly consider Avery for a boy - it's quietly masculine & unique without needing a funny spelling.
For girls, I like Reece & Avery again (my favorite name ever, but hubby won't give in). I like Peyton in theory, but in reality no one ever pronounces the 'T', so it ends up sounding like Pey-n. Hadleigh, Ashtyn, and Skylar sound like you're trying too hard.
I really hope this didn't sound harsh - I'm just trying to be honest!

So I'm pretty sure she isn't going to change them My name is Kiley, and I've always have had to spell my name for people... It's not as big of a deal as you may think! BTW Tayler and Kendyl were on my list =] only as Taelyr and Kyndal I think it's very neat when people change up the spellings on names (not sooo crazy though) it makes them unique/special compared to all the other kids! Who wants there kid to be the same as all the other kids?

Sure, using a different spelling makes them unique in a way. They will always be known as "Kyndal - K-Y-N-D-A-L" or "Kendall-with-a-Y-and-one-L". I have a slightly different spelling to my own name and I have always found it annoying. With all the 'unique' spellings out there these days, it's probably more original to give your child the correct spelling.

It was all just totally my opinion, and I really don't think you have the right to tell me that what I would like to name my baby (however the spelling maybe) is wrong. I was not telling her how to spell her child's name hence she already has two children named Kendyl and Tayler. I was just telling her how they were spelled on my list when I had Aubrie. I'm not really into how names "should" be spelled, but more of what I like. And in the end that's all that matters, right?

Re: Honest opinions about these names...
in my honest opinion, picking your child's name is a very special thing & you should pick a name you love. I think whatever name you pick is the perfect name. That doesn't mean that your child shouldn't be considered when picking a name. This is a name your child will have forever (or should). Your child will have to deal with a "childish", "weird" name from birth until death, so you should pick something that is special to your child but keep in mind as your child gets older the name you thought was cute or adorable, just might not fit the adult. (Your children have beautiful names so I don't see that as a problem for you!) As far as spelling, there is no right or wrong way to spell a name, its a name. Sure, your child may have to spell it for people if spelled uncommonly but my name is Michelle and I still have to spell it for some people. When picking our kids names, I tried to stay away from the trendy names of the day, because when my kids start school they could be one of 6 "Ben's" or "Hannah's" in their class and that doesn't make them unique at all. Like I said, just my 2 cents! :)

Re: Honest opinions about these names...
Thank you all for your opinions!! I really appreciate it! I asked for honest opinions, and I am glad that that is what I got. When it comes to names (and everything else for that matter) everyone has their own thoughts and ideas. There are a lot of good points that I didn't even consider! I like that I can get input from all of you vs. going to family, etc. I don't like to do that with name selection (seems that is when feelings do get hurt!)
As far as spellings go, I have a VERY unusual spelling for my name...Taunia (pronounced Tanya.) I have enjoyed having an unusual spelling. It is a great conversation piece!! Granted, most people spell it wrong, but it doesn't bother me...I know that it is a "unique" spelling, and don't expect people to know how to spell it. BUT...the reason that we spelled Tayler with an ER is because we didn't know the gender, and decided that if it was a girl it would be spelled with an OR, and a little boy would be ER, so that it would be more masculine (more like Tyler.) When we chose Kendyl, we also gave her that spelling to add a more feminine touch to it.
BTW...our last name is Zimmerman, which I probably should have mentioned before. Thanks again for your opinions!! Please keep 'em coming!!!!
