    Cord Blood Bank - Canada

Hello ladies. I'm really interested in doing cord blood banking when our daughter is born in September. Just wondering if there are any Canadians out there who have done this. Any recommendations on which company to choose? I know there's lot out there and don't really know what the differences are. We are in Red Deer, AB. Thanks!

I went with the Cord Blood Registry simply because it is the cheapest overall and has the most weather stable location for their bank. When I was researching payment plans and added up the costs, I found out that the other banks make it seem cheaper in the short term but in the long run you are actually paying thousands more. I'll be shipping mine from Pennsylvania to Arizona and I'm sure they allow a person to ship from Canada. The samples apparently have to stay at room temperature so they're pretty easy to ship. Here's a link to their website: http://www.cordblood.com/index.asp HTH!

We also used Cord Blood Registry with both of our boys and we are using the same with our third (a girl). I agree with the other responder, this bank was cheaper and the people were wonderful to work with.
