Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
I've started bleeding around 6 weeks as well.I am 9 weeks and still the bleeding like the first day.
I have surfed and found out that bleeding would start on the 6th week to(11 to) 16th the week could be normal and 97% of these pregnancies with bleeding would end normally without any problems. My doctor says "The worst thing is to worry" so he calls me to office every week (and also whenever I want ) and shows me my babies heartbeats. This is very relaxing and calms you down..
The doctor said I have a hematoma and might keep bleeding for sometme. He says as the baby grows the hematoma will get smaller. I am waiting for the day.. I am trying to enjoy the life at home. Watching TV, reading, surfing the internet, playing games etc. Got nothing else to do.
Good lcuk and best of health.

Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
I'm new to this forum, but I identify with the bleeding issues. I have had 4 episodes of bleeding...all gushing, not gradual. My latest have been yesterday at work and Sunday night. The first was at 5 weeks and a few days, then 6 weeks and a few days, and then 8 1/2 weeks and 8w6d. I'm 9 weeks today. The cause of my bleeding was diagnosed via U/S on Monday, and the placenta edge has torn away from the uterine wall, and a blood clot has formed in the opening. I passed part of the clot yesterday, and the clot is getting smaller. I had a consultation with one of the doctors in my practice yesterday, and she was hopeful that the clot is moving out from under the placenta, and they're hoping the placenta will reattach. it's a scary thing! This is my first day of bedrest, and I'm off work for 2 weeks. What types of things are you all doing to keep busy? Daytime television is so horrible sometimes!

Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
This is my third pregnancy, the other two were smooth sailing....this one was great until 20 weeks tro the day. This past Friday I started gushing bleeding and ended up in the ER. The baby is looking fine but I have a clot the size of a tennisball in there with my little girl, so I am on modified bedrest...
I had another bleeding episode yesterday so another trip to labor and delivery. This is so hard, I got a 5 year old a nd a 2 year old and I feel like a big ol' lump on the sofa....
my mother will be here in a couple of days to help oiut for while......until then hubby is working from home!
So far I am whining and cross stitiching and catching up on old Tivo shows....but quite frankly this is not FUN at all!

Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
hello
lift your chins, it is hard but you can do it,
i know i have been there , my last pregancy with my son (who is a very health 18 month old boy) was hell,
@ 16weeks i started to bleed, complete bed rest, took them tell 20 weeks to figure out the bottom of my placenta seperated and
i had a blood cloth in my uterus. i had to get people to make meals so i didnt have to cook.
there had to me some one at my house to bath and get food ready for me and my son. i was alowed up for to go to the washroom and back
@ 27 weeks i was given steroids for the babys heart and longs
@ 32 weeks my blood pressure went up and i was addmitted to hospital
@ 36 week i was induced. 1 week later my son & i left the hospital
i know it hell, keeo thinking of the outcome, at your next ultra sound, get picture and but them all over your house,
when you look around you see them and remember why it is the your doing this,
keep a journal and share it with your spouse, ask for help & company,
i am 11 weeks pregant with twins, i know im going to end up on bedrest agian, yes the idea scares me, yes i know the hell im going to go threw
but i tell myself , its worth it because at the end of the road, i get these babies,
try to look for the positives
take care of your selfs & familys

Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
I am new to this board and was wondering how other mothers are coping with bed rest. I am 13 weeks pregnant and have had 2 episodes of gushing blood. My doctor ordered me to stay out of work and on the couch untill at least 24 weeks. We do not know yet what is causing this bleeding, I have an ultrasound this wednesday and we are hoping to discover the cause. It is a bit frustrating because my doctor is so nonchalnt about it. I just feel that something is terribly wrong. Is everyone in this post still coping with bedrest? I am already getting cabin fever and its only been a week. I know I shouldnt worry and should have faith that everything will work out. Its hard though because I have a 21 month old at home and cannot do all the things that he needs. My husband works 65-75 hours a week, and I do not get much help from family. I just dont know how to ask without feeling like a burden to someone.
If any cares to offer some encoraging words, please do so!
Hope all is well with everyone!

try to keep up your sprits,
try to get a friend or someone to stop by your house every day to take your little one outside,
you CANT i it sucks but you want to do whatevere they think is best for your baby,
it actualy made it easier when my 2nd child came home because my 1st son wasnt as attached and was able to do some things
for himself. when ever your husband is at home get him to make meals, and snacks,
try to keep your thoughts positive ladies, keep your minds focused, eat very healths,
even though doctors cant tell you 100% whats wrong trust them. how many pregant women have they took care of.
good luck, because i listen to my doc, i have my little boy

I'm 27 weeks preggo and was just ordered to stay off my feet due to my cervix being thinned out. I'm 50 to 60% effaced and go back tomorrow to see if it's worse. I'm really freaked out because 27 weeks is waaayy too early for her to come. Anyone else have a similar situation?

Re: I've been on be rest for 7 weeks now & I'm 13 weeks pregnant. They don't know what's wrong!
Hey Melissa,
I'm pregnant with my third baby and this pregnancy so far has not been too bad. My first pregnancy was a disaster! at 20 weeks my cervix began to open and I was admitted to the hospital. They kept me in the hospital and I was not even able to get up to go to the bathroom. I was 7 cm dilated for the next two months until finally my little firecracker came out on July 4th 2001. You are 27 weeks. there is a 90% survival rate. but your cervix is not opening, its just thinning out. I know its hard, but I really believe that you can keep that baby in there for a lot longer. Some women don't truly understand the meaning of bedrest. You have to have someone to leave you what you need for the day, next to you so you don't have to get up. This can be really hard if you have other children, but you have to do what is best for the baby. Try to relax, and don't do anything! you and your baby girl will be just fine. My daughter was born at 31 weeks at 3lbs 2oz, she is now a very healthy 7 year old. good luck and please keep us updated.
