  anybody get told no vibrators or massagers? Reply Contact hi i'm 28 weeks pregnant and I asked about toys while pregnant. she said i can use toys but my doctor said pretty firmly nothing that vibrates inside or outside . when i asked why she said that the vibrations can slow down the babies heartbeat. when i asked about the back massager for pain even and she said no nothing that vibrates. has anybody else heard this?

Reply Contact Nope never heard that before.  Are you high risk?  I've used chair massagers, vibrators, chiropractic massagers...you name it.  I've never heard that before.  The only risk I can see with any sex toy is sterility.  You will want to keep it clean to prevent any bacteria from making their way in there.

Reply Contact Probably both.   It doesn't have to be boiled or anything (though you can if its a silicone toy).  Just wash it really well with soap and hot water.  Anything you can do to help prevent infection (fungal or bacterial) is better for you and for baby.

Reply Contact  My doc said nothing foreign in the vagina because sometimes they aren't as flexible as a penis and could possibly tear the wall between your vagina and anus.  I have never heard anything about vibrations hurting hb though.  I don't really see how that could be so.

Reply Contact How could a vibrator be any worse than women in NY riding a vibrating subway, or even the ultrasound machine blasting the baby with soundwaves which doesn't affect the hb?  As for the dangers, I realize there are going to be women who will swear they did okay with whatever you're talking about, but I'm addicted to my vibe and my DD is fine 10 years later, as is (so far) this one due in August.
