Am I really having a miscarriage? Please help!!

I am almost to week 11, and last night I passed a couple of pretty good sized blood clots with a fair amount of blood but with absolutely NO PAIN. I have been spotting pretty lightly since then, and still no pain. I miscarried at 4 weeks 2 years ago, and I remember the pain to be almost unbearable. Is this really happening? I have no medical insurance and really need some advice.

With or without medical insurance, I would still get to the ER right away. You may not be losing this baby, but you could have something else going on in there that they could diagnose via ultrasound. Get there!!! I will be praying for you!

AMBER- I am so sorry that you are going through this stress right now.  I have miscarried three times in the past, as recently as august I lost twins.  Miscarriages can be different.  With my first miscarriage, I had SEVERE cramping pain and bleeding.  With my second I had bleeding with little to no pain, and with my third I had no pain or bleeding, but there were no heartbeats when we went for a due date ultrasound.  The third one I had to have a D&C because my body did not take care of it naturally.  It is not completely uncommon for women to bleed a little or spot throughout pregnancy, but clots do raise a small alarm.  I know how hard it is not having health insurance, but my suggestion would be to get to an ultrasound as soon as possible.  Even if to only ease your mind.  Other than that, If you can not get to an ultrasound, then I would say keep taking care of yourself as if you're pregnant, but keep an eye on bleeding etc.  Also, regarding your previous miscarriage and your fears of another one, remember that they are very common (almost 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage before the second trimester), and that it is a part of nature, not your fault in any way.  I know it is difficult to cope with, and that nothing completely takes the pain away of losing that love, but stay strong and my prayers are with you.

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I will get into the doc as soon as my honey gets home from work. I am totally scared and feel like a complete failure, but I know everything happens for a reason and I will do my best to acknowledge the lesson. I really appreciate all the support.

This is my second pregnancy also. My first ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I have been lightly spotting for over 7 weeks of my pregnancy and did pass a large clot a few days a ago. When i first started bleeding it was gushing and i was sure i had a miscarriage again. But when my midwife did an ultra sound the baby was fine. I did have to transfer to a doctor. I was so glad. If you are having any kind of bleeding(even spotting) you really need a doctor. Your baby may be fine, but only a good exam from a doctor will be able to tell you what is going on inside. We looked into Medicaid because if you can qualify you get full coverage that very day. thiers no sham in helping your baby. You need to tell them your pregnant is all. My pregnancy has been so strange, but some how my baby is ok. Keep your hopes up and try to stay clam. I have to talk to my doctor about the clot still, but i think everything will be alright. Prayer and faith are my helping hand. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers too. Your baby might be just fine, but you need to find out why you are spotting and the clot. God bless!
