I have WIC and my kids are on state medical. Both programs are VERY helpful!!! I had to sign up at my county health department which would probably be the same place you'd have to go. I would've signed up for medical for me during the pregnancy, but I didn't qualify....and even if I would've qualified, they don't cover home births which is the route we wanted to go even if we had to pay out-of-pocket. If you happen to qualify to be covered for your pregnancy, our state back-pays medical bills up to three months....I would think/hope the other states would do the same. So, if you were worried about the cramping, you could be seen BEFORE applying for medical and then if you qualified, they would more than likely pay the back bills for you. FYI: I had a lot of cramping when I was pregnant with both of my kids. It felt like painful, strong period-like cramps. It was normal in my case, just the uterus stretching out and getting accustomed to a little person in there. Maybe that's what is going on with you...??? As far as not feeling well, that is usually pretty normal during your first trimester. I vomited quite a bit in my first three months. With both kids, I couldn't even brush my teeth without gagging!!! That was my first sign of pregnancy with both!!! LOL!! With my second, I couldn't ride or drive in a car without getting carsick during my first trimester....and I NEVER get carsick!! I think what you are describing sounds pretty normal. It sounds like this baby is a gift & blessing based on what you were told before about being able to have kids. I know babies can sometimes make their appearances at inopportune times in our lives and people feel as though the timing isn't "right"....but really, when is the "right" time?? I try to look at each pregnancy as though it is potentially my last chance to experience this incredible miracle working inside me. When I look at it that way, it helps me to fully enjoy my pregnancy & what I'm experiencing. I hope this helps.....
