Re: Put on bed rest at 23w......

Hello you guys.  I was put on bedrest at 28 weeks with my last pregnancy.  I actually started funneling at 26 weeks but my Ob was okay with me finishing out my desk job as I had already put in notice.  I was pregnant with twins.  I was on bedrest for 8 weeks, released at 36 weeks and delivered my twins 11 days later, the day before my induction was scheduled for.  While I was on bedrest I watched lots of movies, spent lots of time online, did my Christmas shopping (boy did the mailman love me that year), caught up my scrapbooking (I do it all digitally on the computer) designed birth announcements other than the date and pictures, learned to crochet from a book/kit that DH got for me at Walmart.  Did some little craft projects like Christmas ornaments, got some really neat "stained glass" coloring books and colored them with markers, amazing how relaxing coloring can be.  I made "dinner dates" with friends to stop by and eat a meal with me if DH wasn't around so I wouldn't be too lonely.  I played the PS2.   Even with it all it gets boring and depressing but it is worth every minute of it.  I am hoping and praying that this time around I can avoid bedrest as my twins are 3 1/2 and get into way too much trouble if they aren't kept busy.

Hi. I was put on bedrest last Thursday for the weekend and went for a check up again on Monday and was told I was on bedrest for the rest of my pregancy. I was put on for preeclampsia again (I don't have it as bad as I did with my first child though). I only have two more weeks until I have my baby (this is my third baby). So I don't have that much longer to go,but my doctor said if it doesn't look like I am getting any better than we will be having this baby sooner than the 15th. I didn't have preeclampsia with my second baby-just with my first baby and with this baby. I hope these two weeks go by fast because I don't like sitting still and I don't want the preeclampsia getting any worse. And I also have two little girls ( one four year old and one 18 month old) that doesn't understand why mommy can't get up and take them to the playground or go to the store with them and daddy, so these two weeks need to go by fast for them.

I have a two year old that wounders the same thing. Atleast its only two weeks. You should take advantage of the rest before you are chasing 3. Good luck to you. I hope it doesnt get worse.

Just went to my second doctor appointment for this week this morning and my blood pressure is still a little high not that high as it was last Thursday, this weekend that just past, and Monday. The doctor said that we are still on hold with it being a little high, and that my labs were good. He has me going for labs once a week, getting a nst once a week, and seeing him twice a week. You are right I should take advantage of the rest bsecause when the baby comes there won't be that much rest time with three little ones. Good luck to you also.

incompetent cervix on bed rest plz help

Hi finally i find someone else to talk to about this subject. I felt like i was some kind of alien when i was told i have a short cervix on sept 29 2008 at my level 2 sonogram i am 21 wks. No one in my family has never had this problem. I was put on strict bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy and will start getting injections next week. i've decided not to get the cerclage due to the risks. Has anyones cervix started shortening as early as mine and lasted to at least 32 wks? Please help this is my first pregnancy and its a boy

Re: incompetent cervix on bed rest plz help

Hey sorry. I am taking two online classes and have been busting my butt to write two papers for them. I was put on bed rest at 23w. My cervix is stable at 1.3cm. I had trauma to mine with my last preg but in a matter of 4w it went from normal to 2/3 gone. I have been albe to get up and do a lil more each week cuz it has stayed the same. The big one is making it to 32w cuz almost all babies survive. I have full confidence that I will make it. Melissa is also in the same board as me (dec 08) and she is haning in strong too. She will be 32w next week. Just take it one week at at time. Why are you getting shots? Oh and for the record I am having a boy too and I think he is just being a lil pain in the butt! LOL Ava was not this much trouble

I am not on as many restrictions now. You should slowly get privliges lol! I prop my slef up with pillows so I am reclined. I would ask specifically what you are allowed and not allowed to do and how to sit.
