Hi Lisa, My name is Erika, I also have a bi-cornet uterus. You can email me if you'd like to talk. I check it more often then I come to this board as I'm not pregnant anymore.

Hi Lisa, I don't actually have anything like this, but I do have a friend that has a uterus shaped like a heart. She had to have a c-section because her baby just couldn't grow anymore and was stuck in the transverse position. Everything turned out fine and she is pregnant again with her second child, they will have to do the same thing again. Hope this was helpful.

    Hi Lisa!

I responded to you over in bearing w/ bedrest, but thought I'd respond here, too.  I do have a bicornuate uterus and have given birth to three sons.

I'm not currently pregnant, but wanted you to know you're not alone!  (Doesn't it kind of feel like you are when you hear this kind of thing?  I felt like a freak of nature when I found out about my uterus, ugh.)

Overall, my pregnancies were good ~ besides early Braxton Hicks contractions and the baby running out of room to move at the end, and delivering by C-section.  (With my last baby, I had placenta previa, but that was more due to the fact that he was section #3 than to the fact that my uterus was bicornuate, I believe.)  It's all worth it when you're holding your precious baby.  My best advice to you is to take it easy from day one.  Drink lots of water, and put your feet up and rest as much as you can.  If your dh is able, have him start to do the grocery shopping for or with you.  And my biggest advice is to listen to your body.  No dr., mother, sister, friend, etc., knows exactly how you're feeling.  They mean well with their advice, but you know yourself the best.  Start trusting your motherly instincts right now, because you'll need them more than ever in the 18 years to come :)

    Congratulations on your pregnancy, Lisa!

If you have any questions, please pm me.  I check those a few times a week.  I'm usually not even on pw, but I've felt a need to come and check out the boards lately. ;)

You and your little one will remain in my prayers.

    ~Eileen

Re: Anyone else have a Bicornuate uterus or other uterine deformity?

Thanks so much for sharing with me the fact that you have had 3 healthy sons, this news fills me with joy! If you can do it gives me hope that I can too. My only thing is I also had a loop precedure in 2000 for pre-cancerous cells ( This puts me at higher risk for incompitant cervix) I also found out that I have an auto immune disease, for which I'm taking baby asprin everyday, and as if that all isn't enough my progesterone levels were low so I am taking progesterone suppositaries. Though since I have been on the suppositaries my last bloods showed normal levels YEH! My Dr is fantastic and keeping a very close eye on me so that we can catch anything going wrong at the very beginning. Right now I am realy feeling very good. I am meant to fly to Spain Dec 18th to be with my family for Christmas, (I'm British but my parents immigrated to Spain 5 years ago). I realy want to see them as I havent seen them for over 18 months, but it all depends on what the Dr says. I will definatly be following Dr's orders. By the way I'm not very computer savy and have no idea what the abreviations pm or pw mean. I'm guessing pm means personal message. I would love to keep in touch with you and can give you my e-mail as soon as I can figure out how to do it without everyone elese seeing it! Anyway thanks again because I realy did appreciate hearing from you. Lisa.

You have a lot going on!  Everything you're going through is just going to make holding this precious baby at the end of 40 weeks (or a little sooner:) that much more amazing.  I'm so glad that your dr. is keeping such a close eye on you.  I had to take the progesterone suppositories, too, with my first pregnancy.  I took them until the baby's heartbeat could be heard with the doppler.  I'm so glad your progesterone levels are good now.  What a relief.  One thing at a time, right?

I really hope you're able to fly to Spain to be with your family for Christmas.  And I'm glad that you're feeling so good!  That is terrific!!

I'm sorry about the abbreviations!  Yes, pm means "private message" if you look in the upper right hand corner of this response box, you'll see a tab for "contact", just press that and the second one down will say "send proud mom of three a private message."  You can give me your email address in that private message and no one else will be able to see it.  I would love to keep in touch with you!  (Oh, and pw just means "Pregnancy Weekly"  Big Smile)

I'll continue to pray for you and your little one.  (((((hugs)))))
