    pregnant with baby No# 3 and having a c-section

I have a 6yr old and 4yr old that i delivered vaginally with no pain medication. I am having complications with this pregnancy and i am scheduled for a c-section on monday. I am totally freaked out. Can any one please tell me how their c-sections went. I am so scared of needles and just thinking about getting the epidural is stressing me out. How is the recovery and are u able to bond with the baby after delivery??? I just have so many questions!!

hi there. well, I had a c-section after 16 hours of labor, no pushing, but labor pains. I gladly welcomed that needle they put in my back to numb me from the waist down. If you can endure labor pains, that needle is nothing! trust me. it's a tiny pinch and then whoooooosh warmth down the legs and numbness! my c-section went great. it was over before i knew it. my husband was right there with me the whole time and the team of nurses and doctors were great. they even made me laugh during it. then i saw my baby, of course, i didn't get to hold him right away, but on the way back to my room I did which was probably 30 min after he was born. then i started breastfeeding right away. the recovery was very easy for me. i got up and walked the next day a bit and honestly, the pain was very minimal, just take your medication as they tell you and you will be fine. I was impressed at how well I took it all and how well the recovery went, you are so focused on your baby you don't really notice how you feel...you will be GREAT! GOOD LUCK and Happy Holidays!

i too am scared to push a baby out of my vagina lol.... i had a c section with my daughter after 15 hours of labor, i never ever thought i would have to get a c section so i never read up on everything. the epidural didnt hurt at all, it was only a ltlle sting... but for my c section story.... once they started to cut open i yelled cause i still wasnt all the way numb. so they drugged me up even more. all i really felt was pushing on my ribs, and omg they was horrible i thought they were gonna break them. after baby was born i just started crying cause i was so happy to not be pregnant anymore and see my lil one. well i tired to hold her in the recovery room and i accidently layed her on my stomach and that was a bad idea cause of all the drugs in me i started to throw up. so my whole family held her before i even really got to. for the recovery, it wasnt too bad, but the nurses never really made me get up and walk. i was in the hospital for 4 days and finally got to go home after they took the staples out (which didnt hurt at all). once i got home my c section got very infected and i could not walk. it lasted a couple days while i was takin antibiotics. after 2 weeks i went back to school and just did normal daily activities. i dont think c sections are bad at all. im due in may and i am def planning this one to be a c section. the doctors say recovery after a planned one is much easier than being so exhausted after so long in labor and also surgey and then have to recover.
