    Water breaking and then stopping?

I'm pretty sure my water broke lastnight. It seemed like about 1/4 cup on the floor but then stopped. I really do want it to be done for now since I'm only 24 weeks. But have you heard of anyone's water breaking and then sealing again and still carrying to term or at least close? I would appreciate the input. I'm going to the dr tomorrow just to be safe that nothing is getting infected. But DH got kinda freaked out by the whole thing and said it deff wasn't something normal for my pregnancies and was water with no smell. I did check the smell also when I went into the bathroom. Thanks! Angela

I really have no idea if it can reseal. I know they should be able to test any vaginal fluids to make sure it was truly amniotic fluid or not. Update us on what you find out!

Well it did stop. Even when I was having a lot of contrations today. They didn't seem worried about it at all and didn't test either but they did check my cervix and it was closed. But now I'm on bedrest anyways for contrations with meds. I don't know if it's related or not but I'll be there everyweek if I'm worried anyways.

Well that sucks. Do you have a history of premature labor?

Did they do an u/s at your appointment? The u/s can look at the fluid level. i am pretty sure they did though.

Yes I do have a history of preterm labor. And no they didn't do a u/s to check. They were more worried about my contrations since they were only two mins apart. But she's moving around just fine in there. And I normally have a TON of water in there, way more than normal. So I'm not too worried about it.

glad it wasn't broken. I have heard of a pin hole closing off again, but that ups risk for infection.

I have been watching my temp because of that also. Thanks for the responce. But the dr doesn't seem worried about it and I think they pretty much just blew me off. I am in there every week so if anything comes up I can always ask.

uhm.. i dont know about resealing... but i do know that the flow of fluids can slow- I had two bags of water so at one point the membranes from the other bag blocked off the opening to my cervix to where the resident ob actually asked if my water was broke (I came in gushing)... so I would guess the same could happen if things shifted around- i'm sure part of the membranes left intact could cover the opening and you wouldnt notice the fluid leaking so much.. I would definately check fluid levels and see whether or not you need to do something because I know they put me on a timeline of 24 hours post membrane rupture due to the risk of infection

It was a pin hole leak. It stopped and resealed. I'm now exactly 10 weeks from when it happened and everyone is fine. Still on bedrest for the next week though. But I did talk to someone else who had the same thing happen to her in her pregnancy and they were fine as well. I also decided to do some research as well to ease my mind. It isn't horribly normal but most people that have it also don't notice it.
