naming our third child, first boy

We love the name Dominic but want to put Dad's name David either as first or middle but don't know if it actaully works. Dominic David...David Dominic and call him Dominic? Any input appreciated!

I think David Dominic works better than the other way around. You can always call him Dominic like you said and then everyone is happy. =) I gave DS the same middle name as DH.

I really like the name Dominic too. I think that Dominic David flows better. I like the father's name as a middle name-besides, you love the names Dominic!

Dominic David is the best... and if you are going to call him Dominic no matter what then it should be his name.

If you don't like the flow of the name you could always do something like Dominic Jon-David

Our sixth child is Dominic Paul West. Both middle names are family names and we decided to give him both because we couldn't decide which we liked better and he WAS going to be our last child. He isn't - number seven is due in 4.5 weeks. If you are not entirely sure about the middle name, perhaps you could try your fathers middle name as the babies middle name. We did that in the case of our fifth son as I felt my father-in-laws first name - Clive was a little too strong.
