    Who has a cerclage?

Hi, I was checking in on the high risk board. I have met a lot of people over on the bedrest board. I have a cerlcage which was placed during my 14th week. I was placed on bedrest at 19 weeks due to cervical length changes. So I am out the remainder of my pregnancy. I am praying that my cervix does a miracle so I can attend my graduation ceremony. Anyways, I just wanted to get support from others out there. Having a cerclage is so important and can bring on a lot of anxiety during pregnancy. Let us know how you are doing. Carmen

    Re: Who has a cerclage?

Hi, I am almost 9 weeks and will have a cerclage placed at 14 weeks. This is going to be my second one, on one of my prior pregnanies with the cerclage I developed an infection in my placenta which in turn caused preterm labor at 26 weeks. Faythe only lived a week in the nicu at the hospital, she was very sick. So I am very nervous with this present pregnancy with the cerclage being placed. I definately wish you and all the others luck...keep me posted kristine

Hi Kristine, first I am sorry for your loss. I loss my Mason at 18 weeks back in July 07. So I understand what you are going through.I know that you are going to have a successful pregnancy. I am a positive person here. I am going on my 31st week and 12th week of bedrest. I too got a cerclage at 14 weeks and my cervix began to shorten and funnel at 19 weeks, so thats when bedrest started. Thanks to the Almighty God, my cerclage has been holding and have had not infections. I cannot say that it has been extremely easy, but positive thinking and God has gotten me through this. It is common to have anxiety and worry especially if you have had a loss, but you will get through. We are here for support. Carmen
