Re: Whats going on with your week?

Glad to hear you are having a pretty uneventful week...we welcome those, right!  Sorry to hear about the insulin but at least they are watching your levels.  I would not worry about the weight gain.  This is the time we are supposed to pack it on.  I am like you, I have only gained about 14lbs.  Everyone is different!  My week has been pretty good.  My family had a shower for me on Sunday which was great.  I had two appointments this week.  One with OB and one with the u/s place (peri). At my OB she did the group b strep and my first internal exam.  She said I am closed tight...go figure!!!!  I had the u/s this afternoon for a BPP (biophysical profile) and dopplers.  Baby is doing just fine although they scared the pants off of me.  The sonographer got an abnormal reading on one of the dopplers so the peri dr came in to double check - second opinion.  Luckily everything was fine for her but I hate it when they leave you sitting in the room, scared to death while they 'go to consult the dr'.  I swear that is enough to throw me into a panic attack.  I guess I should be happy they ear on the side of caution.  And...the best part of my week is....I am 36 weeks today!!!!  and it is my last day of work!!!  I can't wait unitl I hit 37 then I am really full term.  Oh and my OB said to stop the Procardia next week...I stopped the progesterone about 3 weeks ago.  Almost med free.  Ok, enough babbling from me.  I hope the rest of you are having a good week as well!  Ruth Ann

Lucky ladies! Wish I had only gained 14 lbs! I'm up 42 I think! AH! That is just scary. Sorry they scared you Ruth Ann. I hate when they do anything that takes too long! The dr took too long listening to the baby's heart today and I started to freak a little watching her face. Still don't know what that was about, she didn't say when I asked. But sounds great that you're doing so well and almost 37 weeks! Yeah! Just one more week. We, for my appointment today, I already posted my weight. Ugh, not looking forward to loosing all that again. But I'm 34 weeks 5 days. Almost 35 weeks. So yeah for us. I'll be going off my meds again on sun(taking them all day and not restarting them monday). I'm dialated 1 cm already and slightly effaced. SO something is going on in there. Thank goodness since I've been so crampy lately and just nasty to be around. She has dropped also. And pretty low. Well as low as she can get right now. My blood pressure and everything else was fine. And my boys are going to their grandmother's for the next week. So I"m kinda hoping that we'll have her next week while we have people to watch the boys! I'm kinda freaked about that one. OH! With my boys I either was dialated 1cm for a week or two and that was it. Done, so we'll see if she goes with that one as well. I'm just so huge now I'm pretty miserable so I just have to hope she's done and healthy when she gets here. Well, that's it from me. Hope you all are having an okay week too.

Re: Whats going on with your week?

Hey everyone....just checking in on how it's going.  Carmen - haven't heard from you lately...hope all is ok.  My week is going good so far.  I will be 37 weeks on Thursday!  I have an OB appt tomorrow and an u/s for fetal growth, BPP and dopplers on Thurs.  I swear I am counting down how many more of those visits I have....they freak me out big time.  I am wondering if my OB is going to talk about induction tomorrow...I am kind of ok with it at this point if they want to...is that horrible?  I am technically full term on Thursday.  I doubt they will unless the u/s shows the baby is not progressing.  Ugh...here I go stressing days before the darn appointment is even here.  Only a few weeks to go...I can't believe it!  This little one is moving around like crazy and hits a very painful nerve on my cervix every now and then...ouch...hopefully it is making things progress a little!  Hope your week is going good...

Re: Whats going on with your week?

I am still here! I cannot complain about my week either. I had my appointment yesterday. Cervix closed and baby is doing fine measuring 3lbs 8oz which is righ on track because I was 31w5d not quite 32 yet. So I guess after next week he/she will be 4lbs. Still on bedrest, however I have been getting out in the wheelchair a few days a week per my doctor. He says it is best for my sanity. My next appoint will be in 2 weeks (34weeks). It seems like after you get out of the 20's time flies by. 4 more weeks of 17P shots and 4 more weeks before the cerclage to come out!!!! Recently, I have been getting a little sad or anxious as to whether the baby will have club foot which was seen at 24 weeks. According to the peri he said that there was a possibllity or it could just be the position of the feet. I had prayed about it then and really never worried about it because it was treatable and isolated. But nw as the due date is nearing I am feeling the pressure as to whether my baby will have this. Need some encouragement there. Ruth I am so glad that you are full term. I remember your milestones seemed so far away for me and now I can see the end and feel like I will make it to the end. So congrats to you for your successful journey. I have to have a NST in 2 weeks. Does that hurt. You would think I know since I am a nurse right? Anyways, I hopw everyone else is doing well and getting out...keep in touch. Carmen

Re: Whats going on with your week?

Congrats on 32 weeks and a great appointment!!! Not that I am a dr but I agree with yours on the getting out for some sanity.  I found my attitude has changed quite a bit since I have been doing more which can only have a good impact on the baby too.  Try not to worry about the club foot.  Like you said, it is treatable and they are not even 100% sure it exists.  I am having the same worrysome feelings as D day nears...what does the baby look like...will he/she be healthy etc..but I think it is only natural as a mom to feel that way...especially considering we are first timers and not sure what to expect.  Wow, look at us talking about giving birth....amazing!  I am so happy for you too and I contiue to keep you and your baby in my prayers.  As far as the NST, no it does not hurt.  It is just a monitor that they strap around your belly that measures the baby's movements, heart beat and contractions.  Many women on here have them weekly.  I have had one twice earlier on when I went into preterm labor.  Again, I am so happy for you and hope things contiue to go well these last weeks!!!!

Re: Whats going on with your week?

I'm so glad your drs let you all out! Mine didn't want to, at first she was fine but then two weeks later said nope bathroom, shower, food. It sucked! But anyways, I figured I should at least come on here and let you all know kinda sort of how my week was. Monday we went to L&D, I'm 1 cm and 30% effeced(20% more than my last drs appointment). My blood pressure was high, a first for me. Maybe I freaked out when we got there. But at any rate we left after a little bit and nothing really happened. I had been having contrations until I got ther and decided I really wasn't ready yet and freaked out. Weird huh?! We did get to go home and now this little girl seems to have engaged her head sometime last night. So maybe soon, maybe not. I can't find anything that says how much time a third baby should be that way. My other two never did though. LOL. Who knows?! Hope you all are having a great week.OH! My dr cancelled my appointment because she was sick, so no appointment this week. I'll just have to wait until next tuesday.

Re: Whats going on with your week?

You certainly had an eventful week!  I'm glad you were able to come home from L&D...a little more baking time...and that's great she is starting to make her way down!  Your bp was probally a little high b/c of nerves.  That happens to me ALL the time.  It is actually kinda embarassing.  They call it 'white coat syndrome'.  How irritaitng about cancelling your appt.  Overall, it sounds like you are doing great...and so close to full term...yahoo!!!  My week was pretty good.  I had an u/s on Monday to check how the baby is doing - practice breathing, movement, hb etc and was there for like 10 minutes!  Baby was practice breathing like a champ and all.  Then I had my 38w ob appt yesterday.  Very uneventful.  I am not dialated at all but fine with that.  Gained like 3 lbs..ooops..I am ok with that too.  I am hoping 2.5 of it went to the baby :).  I go back on Monday for another u/s and growth scan.  I have decided I am now on a mission to see how far I go...my ob said if I go past my due date...induction is up to me.  Haa!  How funny to even have that conversation.  I hope everyone else is having a good week as well and great weekend!

Thats so crazy. The ones the doctors think want make it are the very ones to exceed the expectations. We can all say that bedrest works...it works...and it works! Ruth would you do it all over again? That was a conversation that me and my husband had last night.

Re: Whats going on with your week?

Sounds like you had some very informative appts! Everything sounds great. I can't believe we've made it this far. And yes bedrest works. Who knows if it's a little too well. ;p J/K. I know we'd do it all over again. Anything to keep a baby in that needs more baking! I've done it twice now and it was totally worth it both times! But I still can't wait to meet this one, of course I will but I can't wait to see her face!

Re: Whats going on with your week?

Would I do it all over again...a couple months ago I thought no way....now, yeah proablly.  My DH and I have talked about it too.  He keeps saying..."our kids"...plural.  Angela is proof that doing it more than once it doable!!!

Re: Whats going on with your week?

I'm not going to say it's not hard! It is really hard. It has been harder for DH this time I think, but we did know more what to expect and that took the scary out of it. But you might want to space them out more than me! Two years appart is kinda too close when you're on bedrest. It is doable though. And I would do it again for either of the two I've been on it for! I think we're done with three though. Sounds good to me. :) I could never have had just two kids though. For me, it just wasn't enough! Funny huh?!

Re: Whats going on with your week?

It is hard to think about the future of more kids. God can only make that decision. I am very grateful for the little one that I am going to have. I would like to have at least 2 by 35. I am 31 now. I have 4 more years left I guess! The bedrest was very hard. But like Angela said it is less scary the second time around. I believe that. Carmen
