Worried about HCG levels in early pregnancy

I'm ~4 weeks pregnant via IUI. My initial HCG levels were 131 last Thursday, which the nurse said was very good (they want them to be 50-100). They should have quadrupled by today to 524, but were only 471. She said this indicated that something wasn't right; either there were two but now there's only one, or that it wasn't going to be a "good" pregnancy. I've done a little research online (which isn't always a great idea), and felt a little better to read that a 60% increase every 48 hours was considered normal, but I'm still very worried. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for ~2 years, and this was our 2nd IUI (the first one didn't take). I go back Wednesday for another blood test. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi, I am 7 weeks and 2 days. My HCG and all my hormon levels went down too, instead of increase. The fetal heartbeat is only 96. The doctor said it dopesn't look good. He gives me protesterone injection and will see me again next monday to see, if it has changed.

I really don't think that is that bad. When I had a m/c I went from 565 to 75 in 48 hours. I would try not to worry to much, I know this is easier said than done. I hope you get some good news;-) Sticky Dust!!!!!

I forgot to add: my estadiol went from 555 down to 326, protesterone from 17 to 15 and hcg only increased by 100. As the heartbeat is only 96, I am worry it could stop beating anytime

Hi Shelly,  congrats on the pregnancy,  I would have to say that is a fairly good increase and something you may want to consider is the time of day they drew the blood.  So lets say the first time they drew blood was in the morning and the second time they drew blood was in the afternoon that could account for the difference.  Yes it is suppose to double every 48 hrs this is standard but its and approximate double not exact double.  I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted.
