    Does Anyone know?

My OB/Gyn just put me on bed rest and I've been freakin out because I dont know how I'm goin to pay my rent. I was wondering if I could get government assistance for temporary disability. If anyone knows of anything please help me out. Thanks ladies!

Cecile, my husband is licensed to work in the insurance industry. He said that the gov will provide assistance such as food stamps, housing stipends, WIC etc, but not temp disability. That is usually offered through your job if they provide short term disability insurance and you signed up for it. Hope things work out. Can you work from home on bedrest? Carmen

    Re: Does Anyone know?

Hey Carmen. Well the thing is I can't find a legit work-at-home job and I didn't have a job before I was put on bed rest. My cousin would go out of town andwork a few days while I watched her baby and she would pay me by taking care of the rent and I would do some photography, dance, and acting gigs to pay my bills . Now I'm unable to watch the baby so she has to pay someone else and I have no way of making any income to pay my bills and rent.

Call you local department of humans services.  They can help with food, housing, utilities, etc.  You may have to get your dr to fax them the orders for your bedrest but they may even help you with home health and meal services.

     Good luck!
