    newborn sharing with toddler????????????

does anyone have any ideas on how to set up a toddler/newborn room, they are both boys and the baby will be here in six more weeks, i dont have a huge room for them so im trying to think of storage ideas to make more space for them. Any ideas would be great, my toddler likes thomas the train and now his room is thomas the train so if there is a way to add a baby theme to that that could be cute i think.

There's lots of plane, train, & car themed nursery sets. Thomas is primary colored (blue & red), so I would think it wouldn't be too hard to find something to coordinate. Maybe since your older boy likes Thomas, you could stick to the Thomas theme and have the baby stuff in a solid blue or red..or both patterned to tie it in? I don't really know, just a thought! I would also say, getting underbed storage for extra blankets, clothes, etc...is a good idea since I assume you'll have a crib and a bed in the same room, which takes up quite a bit of room. Sorry I can't be more help! Oh...and I bet if you looked on eBay you could find Thomas nursery sets that someone hand sewed...?? Good luck!! Amanda P.S. I just looked on eBay and there are some Thomas Crib sets, but they're pretty spendy...it would be better if you know how to sew or know someone who does!! ;)

thanks a lot the under the crib storage is a great idea, it makes the room a lot bigger having stuff stored. I decided just to do blue and made the room coordinate with that color. thanks so much for the ideas

We're looking at doing this as well, having a 2bd house with a toddler boy, and a mystery baby on the way. I asume we'll sleep him/her in teh bassinet in our bedroom for the first 3 months at least, or cosleep like we did wth ds, but after that, they better get along! :) Actually what we've already done is built a dresser into the wall of the closet, which was large enough to accomodate it, creating lots of room n the bedroom ares, we'll also end up doing away wth the changing table, which never really was used anyway. Our theme is under the sea, with blue walls with fish and turtles and octopii, etc. painted on them, as well as some wallpaper borders along the cieling and lttle ocean life are rugs. It's really cute, but neutral enough to be unisex! You're lucky you're having two boys, it's a lot easier to share a room wth another of your own kind. :) Good luck! Ours is still 6 months off, and DS will be about 20 months old when he/she gets here, so you'll have to be sure and let everyone know how it goes!!!
