VBAC

Until recently, women who delivered via c-section had to deliver all subsequent children the same way. But now, an increasing number of women are having VBAC, or a vaginal birth after cesarean. Check out this message board to meet other women who have had a VBAC and those who are considering it.

    VBAC after 2 c sections

Have you done it? Would you do it? Is it true most docs won't do more than 3 C sections? I am pregnant with my third, first was a CS due to the baby breech, 2nd was precautionary/routine follow up CS and I really wish I'd chosen VBAC then because I don't want to limit my family to just 3 children. Any info you have would be helpful. Thanks!

I am also pregnant with my third and I have found a doc. (i think the only one!) in Indiana who will let me attempt a VBA2C. I would love to hear from those mommy's who have succeeded at a VBAC after 2 or more ces.

I am pregnant with my third and this will be my third section. From what I know there isn't a limit on the number of sections you can have. However, if you form adhesions...internal scars...there is a greater risk from each additional surgery. They say you can have three with out any problem...but if you form scars the fourth has a much greater risk of complications. this sucks for me because I form adhesions very very well and want four children. So I am hoping that this won't be the last. My doc will have to way the options with me to decide. If all else fales...ask the doctor. They are the expert. i trust my entirely. That is what she does everyday...not like me who has one done every few years. ya know! Good luck!

You should join the ICAN yahoo group.  There are lots of mama's there that have had VBA2C that can share there stories.  If your not familar with ICAN let me know & I can give you the links or give you more info on them.

I did it. It was a 2 1/2 day active labor with a 9 lb 10 oz baby who had both hands by his head, & it was a million times better than both of my cesareans. A few hours/days of pain before meeting baby as opposed to weeks/months of recovery while taking care of a newborn & other children. . . there's no comparison! I'm not on here too often anymore, but if you ever want to talk with someone who's 'been there, done that' feel free to email me at LNCooper83 @ yahoo. com anytime :)
