  Ready to join and talk about it Reply Contact I am going to start off my introducing myself. My name is Elisabeth I just got married in July to my DH Matt. I have a daughter Alyssa who is 3.5 after surpassing some medical problems, and waiting ever so patiently I had a talk with my DH and we made a decision to TTC this would have been our first child together. I joined the TTC board in the beginning of Sept and within the 2nd cycle we got pg and had a m/c follow. I am putting the official m/c day as 10/27/09. I was 4 wks 5 days according to LMP. Here is my story/saga. lol  I had one HPT test that was positive and all the rest were negative, and was having symptoms left and right. Week before last.  I started spotting the monday before last brown, which I thought was implantation and tested that Thursday.  It was positive. So excited, I waited to make a dr appt. Then this past Tuesday I started bleeding which I thought was my period. I figured that my HPT that I first took was just a false positive. I had alot of pain and pressure like I never had before. My AF are normally very heavy/ big clots, but the bleeding was much less. I had 3 small clots smaller than a dime that I noticed. I went to the E.R. bc pain was unbearable. Had u/s internal and external and they didn't see anything. Dr talked to me said I was pg that my number was at a 5. Either I was having a m/c or very early on in the pregnancy, and told me to follow up with their OB on call. I did so, and the OB basically told me that we had m/c but needed to check my BETA. The number is supposed to double every 72hrs. I called them back this past Friday and she said my number was at a 6 that I was not pregnant, and that was pretty much it. I did have a rhogam shot in the OB office, and I am just wondering. I am O- and I have RH- card that I carry. Did that kill the baby? Also I have had really really bad leg pain since the shot, and it's itching today...what would you do? Here are some more questions... I bled tues,wed,thurs just like a AF and it fell around the time my AF would have started.On sat I had some pink spotting. On sun I had some brown spotting. And this morning some red. I didn't think I would be bleeding anymore, bc I figured that Tues was the actual m/c. Do you spot on and off for awhile? or just bleed through it? I've read that you can have low progesterone...how do we know we have that?Is that why the number was so low? Does a leep cause complications? I had one in January.I am sorry I have so many questions....I'm just confused why it happened:( I am here to grieve with all of you, and use this board as an outlet to my pain as well as yours. Those of you that have went through many or are going through one now, my heart goes out to you, and I understand what you are going through. I am terrified to try again. Are any of you wanting to try again if so when?

  Re: Ready to join and talk about it Reply Contact  I am so sorry!  I am 0- too and I really don't think that the shot would not have killed the baby. At least all the research I show says it will not harm a baby. Just help. I was terrified because I thought you always got 2 during a viable pregnancy. 1 during pregnancy and then one following the birth. So I did a lot of research thinking that since I didn't get my second one maybe that is what happened with this baby. But you only get the second one if the baby has a positive blood type. But anyways, I really don't think it hurts babies.

Not getting the shot yet, bc I know it's supposed to prevent... I'm B negative, and my DH is O Positive. I'm currently 30 weeks pg with my second pregnancy, and I just got my Rhogam shot last week. I've had 2 mc's and one beautiful 18 month old son. Your blood type likely had nothing to do with your loss, for a variety of reasons... 1. Even if your DH is RH positive, and your first child got his RH and has positive blood type too, it's likely you had your Rhogam shot during and after your last pregnancy, preventing any antibodies from being created in your body. 2. The antibodies, even if present, would only attack your baby once your baby had a viable circulatory system, and an established RH type, which doesn't usually happen until after 6-8+ weeks into your pregnancy, and even then it isn't likely to cause any problems until later in the pregnancy. I had to get the Rhogam shot during my 2 mc's, but I was still worried about this during my pregnancy with my son. I had bleeding a few times during the first trimester, and got a Rhogam shot then, at 28 weeks, and then didn't need one after the birth, because my son was RH negative like me! I would ask your child's pediatrician what her blood type is (if you don't already know), because if she is negative, like you, you never had any issues in developing those antibodies in the first place! Or if your DH is RH negative, there is also never going to be an issue (as long as he's the father of all of your pregnancies). Don't feel like losing this pregnancy has had anything to do with your blood type, it's extremely unlikely that it had anything to do with it. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm RH- and I'm not sure what my DD blood type is or my DH. Thank you for letting me know that I had to be atleast 6-8wks. That put alittle ease to my mind!:)
