    18 weeks..baby is not kicking.

I'm very worried I'm 18 weeks and my baby has not kicked yet. I have 2 previous children and they both started kicking at about 16 weeks. Please write back

I know it is hard... but don't worry... I didn't start feeling real movement until about 19 1/2 weeks. now it is constant!! =) Is your next appointment soon?? If you still don't feel anything after the weekend... try calling your doc on Monday... maybe they can do a heartbeat check to make you feel better and more at ease! I worried too and those first movements that I knew for sure was her... well they were great.. you will feel them too. I also felt them sooner with my 2 boys... over 9years ago... Good luck and keep us posted! BTW I am not a birth professional.. just a mom.. pregnant!

I have an appointment tuesday. I'm just a little worried because my last pregnancy was an etopic. Thank you though I hope to feel something soon.

Just remember every baby is different, and there are things that could contribute to not feeling movement as soon as your other pregnancies.  For instance, an anterior placenta (placenta on the FRONT of your uterus) would pad any of babies movements and you may not feel them as soon.  Also, I would think you could rule out an ectopic pregnancy, as you wouldn't be able to carry a pregnancy 18 weeks if it was ectopic.

Also, this baby could just be much more mellow than your others, they are all so different!

Talk to your doctor about it, and they can hopefully reassure you that all is ok...let us know how your appt goes on Tuesday!

    Good luck!
