Only 9 wks and doc prescribed MetroGel, is it safe right now?

I went for my first visit at 6 weeks and my doc just called and said I have BV and they are putting me on MetroGel for it. I have read many things that it is safe all throughout pregnancy and theres many things I have read that say it is not safe for 1st trimester use. I'm so confused and debating on whether or not I should wait till I'm 12-13 weeks to take it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

After my 1st visit I found I had an infection (not that kind) and the dr gave me something, but like you I wanted to wait, turns out the next midwife I saw liked the fact that I waited, all doctors are different in what the reccomend, if you don't feel comfortable right now, wait, at your next appointment let the dr/midwife know you didnt take it, and your concerns. Since you will be closer to your 2nd trimester you will feel safer taking it.
