when did you ladies find out?

When I went to my last appt (17w) my dr was feeling around and told me I was measureing big like around 20-21w. She was telling me that it could be a really big baby or too much amniotic fluid or she might have missed a twin..... Needless to say I am freeking out a little. So can you tell me when you ladies found out and what your sypmtoms were? Thanks.

Do you mean when we found out how big our babies were? If that is the case, as much as Doc's like to think they are all knowing they are not. I was bigger than average from teh get go, but so what. I did not really measure larger than normal according to the average measurments for preggers women. My son was 10.3 and 22 inches, born on his due date btw. Babies in utero have growth spurts just like kids do. You may measure big this appointment, but your next you may measure "normal". I wouldn't worry about it all, unless you have some sort of medical condition already diagnosed by your doc. Has your doc done an ultrasound? If she is so concerned and has scared the crap out of you she should back it up with something other than oh I think you are a little bigger than normal. Your pregnancy your choice to make her clarify everything she tells you. You are paying for her to bring your child into this world make her earn it. I am not meaning ot sound harsh to you, I just remeber how arrogant my first doc was and how ignorant and scared she made me feel made me feel. Best of Luck!

Oh sorry I ment when did you find out you were having twins or more. I have an u/s scheduled  on 8/12 so that is the reason we didnt get one while I was there. My mom is a RN but not a OB RN and thinks she feels two but I am only 18w so I dunno if that is really possible. I really just want to know. I am okay either way I just cant take waiting anymore. lol

I had one of those monents as well but it was while I was 26 weeks and my new OB was using the doopler on my belly to listen for the heartbeat. I heard 2, He heard 2 and so did my hubby. I started to go What was that? Why do I hear 2 heartbeats? The Doc moved around my belly for a second and then lookied at me calmly and said...One of them is yours, and laughed a little. I almost had a heart attack. It would have been great to have twins, but the thought of being more than halfway there and having bought all of the baby stuff already . Whoa! I only ended up with one but he has been wonderful and more than enough for now.

Lol! Yeah that would have been a big whoa! I have a daughter and she is 2. So having one baby is great with me. Having two is still great just makes things a lil more interesting. My husband is currently deployed in Kuwait and wont be home unitl 6-8w after the baby(ies) are born. We only heard one heartbeet and only saw one baby at my 9w u/s but for example I am 18w now and my uterus is past my belly button by two fingers. My mom and I have talked about the possibilites of what else it could be and I have gone bonkers on the internet. So I guess I just have to wait and see. Either way I guess my due date is getting moved up! lol Thanks so much for sharing your story with me and responding back to me!
