Does somehow make me think of a praying mantis though. I like Tane, very original as Zane and Lane seem to be the more popular options for a name ending in "ane." Have you considered Blaize/Blaze/Blaise for a boy or Thalia/Talia, Athena or Aurelia/Auria for a girl. They seem like names you might like.
