    post partum question

I had a large baby and an episotomy. I noticed that when I have a BM It comes out of my vagina also. It is very irritated. I went to the Dr the Dr I saw said it is not uncommon to have a internal tear, but sence it was not caught at delivery I would have to wait and see if it heals on it's own. If not I would have to have it repaired in a few months. Why not juse repair it now while I am already sore? Should I seek a second opinion on having it repaired. He did give me an antibiotic to prevent infection.

Holy hell.  Was your labor longer than normal?  I don't know for sure on that one.  I have heard of rectal prolapse.  I would think that would be something that needs to be sutured, given its introducing major bacteria into a sensitive area.  I would suggest a second opinion.

I would also suggest getting a second opinion and also get some milk of mag to help soften your stool.
