    Update on everything......LOL

Ok, so first off thanks to everyone for their prayers for my grandma. Things are starting to look up. They are going to try to take her off of the ventilator today and that's our first really big step in the right direction. She is still in the ICU, but any steps in a positive direction are great.

Second, I had my first appt with my new OB since moving and he told me that instead of just jumping into a c/s like my other OB had planned he would be willing to induce me at 38.5 wks to 39 wks and allow me to try and have a vaginal delivery. I know that I said before that I was having the scheduled c/s and preferred that but I really didn't think I had any other choice. Now that I have been given the option, I think that I would really prefer to have another vaginal delivery. I had a bad experience with my DS due to how large he was, but this new OB reassured me that they would do an U/S prior to induction to see how big he is measuring. I'm really excited at the prospect of having a vaginal delivery though. A c/s honestly scares me. I know the recovery for a c/s is more difficult. I'm still planning on getting the epidural though, I'm not that brave. My biggest problem I'm facing now is that the baby is still in a breach position. I'm getting the chance for a vaginal delivery and now I'm worried that the baby isn't going to turn the right way and I'm going to end up with a c/s anyway. UGH...I'm not sure what to think. Does anyone have any tips for getting a baby to turn the right way???

    YEAH for a posiible VBAC!!!

Here is my breech baby advise:

Most chiro's charge around $40 without insurance, but a lot of insurance plans cover it.  If your interested in the chiro, let me know where you live & I can get the name of a recommended chiropractor that used the technique in your area from ICAN.

Good luck!  I hope that baby turns!

You can try some of these things:

    • Find a chiro who specializes in the webster technique (80% success rate in getting babies to turn) Here is a link to find a doc in your area:  http://www.icpa4kids.com/about/webster_technique.htm  (click on the find doctors on the left hand side) I can personally attest to my baby flipping head down in less than 24 hrs after my chiro performed this, since I am pregnant again & now my baby is head down & has stayed head down with the help of my chiro.
    • Sit in a warm bath with a bag of cold peas on the top of your tummy by the baby's head; they will want to flip towards the warmth.  Never tried it, but some women swear by this.
    • Lie on a board or your stairs upside down for 20 minutes, at a slant, the gravity wants to make a baby flip
    • Acupuncture has been known to work
    • Try Moxibustion See link: http://parenting.ivillage.com/pregnancy/plabor/0,,42zd,00.html  I think this has a 75% success rate.

It wouldn't be a VBAC. Both of my son's were delivered vaginally, but both of my labors were very bad and my deliveries were even worse. I had a post partum hemorrhage with DS and 137 stitches to sew me back together down there. With our baby that we lost after I delivered him his placenta didn't detach and I had to be rushed to the OR for a D&C to get the placenta out. Even after all of that though, I would still rather deliver vaginally. Surgery scares me. I really appreciate the info Christa. I'm willing to try just about anything to avoid surgery now that I know it's an option.
