    Terrible THREE'S!!!

My daughter is on this kick of saying things like "I dont have to" or "Well I said yes!" I have NO idea where she got it from, but its about to drive me nuts! She has been watching cartoons pretty much most of the day. Well I turned them off & we went to sit down & eat dinner, and she wanted to watch them while we ate, and I told her no b/c she had been watching them all day. And she started whining saying Go Diego Go was on next, and she wants to watch it. And I said "Well I said NO!" And she said "well I said yes!" So I spanked her little butt. Then I told her to eat & she said "I dont have to"....Grrrrr.......Eventually after pouting forever, she ate every bit of her dinner. I just dont know what to do! Ive told her over & over to not talk to me like that, and to not even say those words, but she keeps doing it! About everything! Even when we're just playing or something, she finds a way to throw a little "I dont have to" in there!!

My daughter is in the terrible three's as well.  She's in the "bossy" phase I call it! LOL!  She likes to tell me and her dad what we tell her, it's just a matter of trying to teach her that we are the adults and what we say goes.  She does throw a lot back in our face, but so far the counting the 3 works, and taking things away that matter.  We are just not taking it personally when she is mouthy.  I think all kids go through that this phase, but it sure is tough! LOL!  Best wishes!

I know exactly who you feel. My son is three and It is sometimes just a nightmare. Terrible twos were nothing like three. He talks back sometimes and he does the growling at us and mean faces. He likes to bully his little brother. It really gets old. I hope it gets better soon but it's good to know there are others that are going through similar things.
