CONGRATS!! I have a question though? This is my first pregnancy and I'm due April 24th which will be 40 weeks....if 37 weeks is full term does that mean I could have the baby anytime during 37-40 weeks?

Yes mam'. It is unlikely though. Its like 25% or something like that go before 39w, I cant remember. Its small. I was induced on my 40w mark with my first. I honestly dont think I will go anytime soon.

Average gestation for a first-time mom is 41 weeks 1 day.  If you were to have your baby now, s/he would be considered full term which means all the organs should be developed enough for him/her to thrive outside the womb.  But the longer baby hangs out in your womb, most likely the better.

You and I have the same due date!  I was 37 weeks on Wednesday as well!  Yay for making it to full term!  Are you allowed off bedrest now?

It just depends on the baby the mom and the doctor and what would be best for the baby. They may stop the labor between then or they may let you have the baby. I'm pregnanct with my third baby and my two oldest were both born 15 days early. They are both very happy and healthy, and I will probably deliver about 15 days early with this one to. So it just depends.
