    Jacuzzi tub?

Does any one know if it is a no-no to bathe in a jacuzzi tub with the jets on? I have a huge tub with heated jets. I have only had the jets on once, for about 10 minutes because I didn't want my water to get too hot. The jets felt awesome on my back, but I was scared that it could hurt the baby.

I think it's fine to go in the tub, just don't let the water get too hot.  I've heard recommendations that pregnant women should not spend more than a few minutes in a hot tub.  Just keep the temp down a little and I wouldn't see a problem with it.

I think that if it is an at home tub you should be fine, it may actually help. lol I know that spas, jacuzzi, saunas are off limits, I think you can find online the temperatures that become dangerous to a baby, I know that having a fever of 101. is bad for the baby so I think your supposed to keep to cooler.

don't think the jets are an issue. Massages are fine, chiropraters are fine, so not sure why jets should not be as well. Like pp said, only thing is to not have the water too warm/hot and don't stay in it for too long.

i heard that baths as opposed to showers aren't good becuse they could cause infection. I don't know if it's true or not but i started taking showers- just to be safe!

I could be wrong, but I thought that jets actually cooled the water.

    Re: Jacuzzi tub?

From what I've read, and what my OB told me, warm baths are ok....jacuzzi's should be avoided, especially if you cannot adjust the temp. the important thing is to make sure that you do not overheat. So if you take a bath, just remember to not keep everything under water, and that you need to have room temp or body temp water...maybe a bit warmer if you keep your legs, belly, and shoulders above the water line. For jacuzzi's, if it's hot, just dip your feet in.....and maybe a quick less then a minute dunk of the body...
