    Naming my 3rd boy! : )

I am having serious problems coming up with ideas! Of course, my decision-making problems also transfer to other parts of my life... but, anyway.... My oldest son is Zane Thomas, my second son is Andrew James. I have been giving namesake middle names --Thomas after my dad, James after Andrew's dad. I also like that the boys have easy, strong, masculine, one-syllable names -- Zane and Drew. So, what do I name this next baby? The last name is Compton, which does make it somewhat difficult to find things that sound right. For instance, all of the names that end in -son or -ton won't work. There is also the whole not ending the first name with the first sound of the last name... which eliminates Luke, Mark, etc. While I love some of the "flowery" boy names like Julian, etc... I don't think it will sound right with the sibset I have going! I also have kind of a Biblical theme going, as Zane is a form of John... Do I stick with the Apostles? Hmmm.... Is it just me or does it get more difficult with each child?!? Not only do you have think about the name sounding good by itself, you have to consider what it'll sound like when you list their names... or call them for dinner... errrrrgh. Good thing I have four and half to five more months to worry about this!

Hey Bijou. I totally feel your pain!! DS' last name was Key so we couldn't use any of the names that ended in the "K" sound. We ended up going totally untraditional with "Xavier". If you were still thinking about a biblical theme, you could go with Paul. I mean it's not technically an apostle name, but I mean he wrote most of the New Testament if I recall my sunday school classes correctly. I think Zane, Andrew, and Paul Compton sound like perfect brothers' names.

Thank you! I was actually working a list yesterday... and Jude, Paul and Seth were all on there! I was also considering Isaac, Ian, Noah, Ryan... I just have to keep "trying 'em on." Thanks for the suggestions!

My brother has two boys named Zane and Ezra. I think the two names sound and look good together. Let's add Drew to that--Zane, Drew, Ezra--sounds good and looks good to me!
