My little one is coming on Monday

Hi ladies...well all those weeks of bedrest and I am being induced on Monday!  I have mixed emotions about it but am staying positive.  I am due next Thursday, 7/9.  I went for a growth scan today and the baby is still measuring small but they had a really hard time getting an accurate measurement due to the head being so low...and in the end 'estimated' 6.2.  Anyways, everything else is great but they prefer to induce after 39 weeks for smaller babies...whatever, not everyone has big babies and I am not thrilled with that answer and personally feel like they are giving in but have come to terms with it.  If it weren't 3 days before my due date, I would push them to wait but at least I know my baby will be here on Monday...or Tuesday depending how long the induction takes.  I have to go for an NST on Saturday to make sure baby is still doing ok and then Monday is a go.  I am a bit of an emotional mess but I think it is a mix of excitement and knowing that it is really happening!!!!  Ok, just wanted to share.  BTW....Carmen, congrats on 34 weeks!!!!

OMG, that is unreal!!! I am so happy for you...I tell you when all is said and done I am going to miss you!!! Don't be to emotional about the labor thing...if you have to be induced then thats what you have to have...although it is your body and you are the patient and you have the final say so. If I have to be induced I am going to laugh because you know us IC people love to go into labor on our own. Maybe you can try the natural way to go into labor. Well, I hope your NST goes well today. Yesterday I didn't do to well so they had to send me over to L&D for longer monitoring. Baby moves so much that they could pick up accelerations like they wanted to. So the doctor just set me home. She didn't see any distress or anything she just said its moving and want be still enough to get consistent readings. I am going back every week now so yuck!! Please keep me posted about your progress. You will be fine and know that you will have a baby in your arms no later than Tuesday! Maybe they can just break your water first and see what you do, especially since the head is really low. They can do this instead of starting Pitocin first. The only thing is that you have to stay in the hospital due infection risk. Well good luck and I wish you the best with your delivery.Carmen

Thanks for your good wishes Carmen!  It is totally unreal....I feel better today and am now getting excited.  Crazy stuff.  That stinks about your NST.  I hate it when they send you off for another test.  It can be so stressful but at least they did not see any distress or anything. I understand about laughing having to be induced after all is said and done...oh well...what is meant to happen will happen and I have faith I am in good hands.  I will fill you in after my appointment tomorrow.  Ironically, I am having a lot of contractions this mornig so hey, you never know :).  Talk soon...RA
