You should definitely be eating more than 1600 calories a day, you need more than that for your baby and you are supposed to be gaining weight, especially right now when the baby is gaining weight, I think from 34 weeks on they gain like a 1/2 lb a week or something? Eat up hun, you can worry about losing after the baby is born, but don't worry about it right now, it's not good for your little one!

I don't understand. I'm all for eating healthB y but worrying about gaining weight while your pg just doesn't seem right. Yes watching your weight is important but the health of a little bean is what should matter. Plus when the baby gets here & if your bfing, you should keep up the extra caloric intake for their health. I think maybe you should talk to your Dr regarding your concerns. In the guidelines I was given by my Dr, a healthy pg woman should intake of about 2200 during the first trimester ang an additional 300 during the 2nd & 3rd.

I agree with the other ladies. Now is not really the time to be cutting out calories. If you are eating generally healthy then you can eat 2,000 calories a day still and be fine. I know it's hard to see the number go up on the scale, but it's part of being pregnant. You will lose a lot of it after you have the baby plus if you breastfeed that will bring the number down even more. Please just think about the health and safety of your baby. :)
