Infant RefluxInfant reflux is very common; the frequent regurgitation affects more than one half of all babies in the first three months of life. But that doesn’t make it any easier to endure! Join this board to find support, advice and to share your experiences with infant reflux.

Tristan has never screamed from his reflux, just gets uncomfortable just before he spits up. He is breast fed, so I can only imagine how bad it would be if he wasn't. I know dairy makes it worse, but since starting the meds it doesn't effect him as much unless I go dairy nuts! LOL Yeah I get my cheese back! LOL I work full time so I pump for when I'm gone but he really only eats about 8oz in the 9hrs that I'm gone. He eats alot at night and when I'm home, and boy is he a chunker! I noticed he has put on a few lbs since starting the Reglan lol We only have to do his breathing treatments every 3-4 days now, so I'm happy about that. The Dr's had me pretty ticked for a while there. Poor guy had a lot of chest congestion since he was 2 weeks old. I kept taking him in asking about it, and they all said normal, same with the large amounts of spit up. Wella week before hie 4 month check up he started wheezing really bad, so we took him in, and the Dr gave him albuterol to take and had to go back in 2 days.... Ok the albuterol keept the wheezing down for 2hrs but the dosing was 4hrs. :( So then we get a script for the Reglan, and a return trip 2 days later..... Then we go back and are given a script for antibiotics, and told if they don't help they need to do a chest x-ray. So 3 days later We go back, still wheezy and congested, diffrent Dr sets us up with a nebulizor and thats that...... I wish I could just see 1 Dr and stick with them. And the whole freaking out at 4months over stuff I been complaining about since 2 weeks was rediculas.... ok, done venting

My daughter has been experiencning reflux for about 5 weeks..since she stopped getting breast milk...she's now 16 weeks old..she's been on zantac and prevacid and there hasnt been much improvement..she fusses all day long and spits up tons..she also wheezes..i never thought that was related to the reflux though? I have heard a lot about the milk alimentum that needs to be prescibed so i am going to ask pediatrcian at our apt tomorrow if he thinks it woudl help..i hate to giev her meds..esp if the improvment is so minimal :(
Has your babies been given x-rays to confirm that it is reflux? I thought tshi was necessary but my doc said no they just base it on symptoms i'm describing..

My 18 week old daughter is on prevacid (she was 10 weeks early) she's been on it for 8 weeks now and she was showing a lot of improvement, but, now it seems like her dosage needs to be increased.
Julie- I'm in canada as well (not NS anymore, Toronto) and Jillian started on Losec- the diluted stuff... I've found that the fast tabs of Losec/Prevacid works SO much better than the concentrated liquid. Just my 2 cents!
