**New Product that Saves Kids from Being Forgotten in Cars**

Hi Everyone, As you know, the danger of children being forgotten in cars in the sweltering heat is a real one. Every year we hear about tragedies of babies and children being left alone in the car and being either seriously injured or killed. I am pleased to notify you of a new product called The BackSeat Minder Any time a child is placed in the back seat of a vehicle, the driver will be forced to re-open the rear door. A key difference between the BackSeat Minder and other systems is that the system is professionally installed and once installed, there is nothing to do, loose or break. The system works automatically. Please visit my website at www.backseatminder.com If you would like more information or a link us,I would greatly appreciate it. What do you other moms think about things like this? Does anyone use anything like this?

Sounds like a decent idea, but I watched the video on the website and just about went through the roof at how the baby was put in the car!!! Infant carrier car seat facing forward. Really?!? C'mon people.

I think there are some infant carriers that go up to 22lbs or more pounds these days, which technically makes it ok right? 22lbs and 1 year is the rule I thought (don't really know b/c we have a convertable now that Logan is almost 9 months and 20 or 21 lb......still rear facing of coarse). Anyway - I think anything that helps save a babies life is a good thing!

Actually, infant carriers are not designed to be forward facing, it would be very unsafe to have an infant facing forward in an infant carrier. It warns against doing so in the manual.

Well, its a good idea. But the way that carseat was put in the car and strapped in wasn't showing any signs of safety! The first thing I noticed was the fact that the seat was facing forwards. Then the fact that the shoulder belt wasn't properly place either. Had they been in an accident, that baby wouldn't have been protected and probably strangled by the seat belt. They need to re-think their advertisement before airing it anymore.

My apologies. The video was corrected and the new version will be up by the end of the week. Please do not judge the product by the ignorance of the company that created the product video. I have children myself, strap them in properly and I am as concerned for their safety as any parent. I developed this product because of a few very unfortunate stories in my own town and I can tell you that it works. It would be a pity to see people turn away from a life saving solution because of a poorly made product video. Thanks very much for your input. Chaim Orbach
