Jayden is 5 months. He's eating cereal and all fruits and vegetable. He doesn't like peas AT ALL.. He gets cereal and a fruit in the morning and a vegetable around dinner time.

After playing with this for a few weeks, I found that one solids a day works best and keeps Victor nursing about 10-12 times a day.  He gets one cube of fruit (pears, peaches, or bananas, I also made mixed cubes of these) mixed with rice cereal to thicken it, around 6 pm.

I was doing just cereal for a while mixed with bm, but he quickly got bored with it and still wouldn't let me be at meals, and had increased his nursing to much more frequently than he should have been at this age (about 15 times a day,) so I started him on the basic fruits.  I'm waiting a bit longer to try anything else since he seems very satisfied at this time.

Troy will be 5 months next weekend. He is still just breastfeeding. Dr. said not to rush into solids since he seems to be growing well. Plus, we are headed on a weeklong vacation to Iowa and Wiaconsin in 2 weeks, so I think that just BF will be easier until we get back.. then cereal here we come. I just nurse him about 5-6 times a day.

Austen has been on cereal since about 4.5 months(he had pretty bad reflux). He is also now onto his veggies and fruits. He usually gets cereal at breakfast with a little fruit and then around dinner he gets a veggie and the rest of the earlier fruit! He has been a champ about trying everything and seems to like it all so far!

Camden is just a few days past 5 months and so far we are breastfeeding only.  He nurses about 7-8 times per day.  For a week or so he added a few feeds back in over night and I was wondering if I would need to start him on something more but that has settled back down so we're still waiting for solids.

Connor was eating cereal once a day at 4 months for a couple of weeks, as suggested by my doctor to get him to sleep longer. It didn't help and became disinterested in it, so I am waiting until he is 6 months to try again and then introduce veggies and fruits.

Elissa turned 5 months on the 16th and has started cereal w/bm since then once a day.... some days she will take it and other days she is just not interested she would rather nurse... Ive tryed to start fruits but she just pushes them out and clamps her mouth shut, so I guess we will try again at 6 months.

    Re: who's eating what?

Because of his reflux and his sheer volume of formula (42 + ounces a day and still hungry), we started Ian on cereal at 4 mos.  We tried rice, oatmeal, and whole wheat.  At 5 mos, we introduced fruits and veggies.  He eats pears, applesauce, peaches, green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, and we're trying bananas tonight and avocados later this week.  He loves them all and doesn't hardly miss a drop - he even licks his lips.  He gets cereal with formula in the morning, a fruit or veggie at lunch, and a fruit or veggie at dinner.  He still drinks at least 24 ounces of formula during 4 daytime and 1 nighttime feeding.

Gabe started cereal a little after he turned 5 months.  He was acting like he was ready and had already gotten two teeth.  I changed him to oatmeal to add more fiber and he has two feedings a day.  In the morning and at night.  He does not waste a drop.  The only other thing I have tried is bananas but those seem to make him constipated bc he tends to cry and not sleep well.  He will be 6 months next week so I will maybe start a few veggies and fruits then.

Landen will be 5 months in three days =*) We've only been playing around with food, like if we're eating avocado/squash/sweet potatoes I'll blend some up for him and give him a couple bites. But other than that it's purely breast feeding for us! I'm pretty sure we're just going to skip the cereal thing, and continue on with lots of green/orange veggies and start fruits in a month or so.

Sebastian will be six months Saturday; he just started getting food last Wednesday. He's had cereal with bm, papaya, and avocado - and he looooooves it. He gets it at around six, and if we sit down to the table for dinner and don't have anything to offer him he YELLS at us. He would just sit in his high chair and play and watch us eat. Now he has to participate;)
